I have been eating at Plain Jane's for almost 20 years. I have seen the name change 3x now and many employees come and go, but one thing has never changed, the place needs to be invested in properly. When you first pull into the parking lot you will see that even the sign out front needs a new paint job and new lettering.
Service: The waitstaff is always friendly and helpful, knowledgeable about the food, and attentive to details. Never once had any issues with service.
Food: This is where things get strange, recently the food has become horrible! They used to have a motto: from the pan not a can, but now i think most of the food is from a can, or just reheated frozen items. They also changed up the menu and took off my favorite items. The food is flavorless and unappetizing. The one saving grace is that they serve breakfast all day!
Value: Two people could go and have a nice dinner for under 20$: when they changed up the menu and the quality of food, the price went up as well. Now it is safe to say 25-30$ for a couple to go to dinner.
Atmosphere: the owner needs to spend some money on a few key renovations: paint, tile, new cushions for the seats(many are torn and worn out). The restaurant is over 30 years old, but it shouldn't be showing it's age as much!
Final thoughts: i still eat here once or twice a year, but not monthly like i used to. This place needs updating, they need to go back to the old way of cooking (from the pan not the can!).
