We found the Agnes Pease while searching for a place to stay for a wedding in the area & could not have been happier to find Paul and Susan’s place. Traveling with our three children can be difficult – hotel rooms get awfully tight if we all share & sometimes two rooms aren’t available. Here, we were given two beautiful rooms (the Sun & Rose) across the hall from one another & were able to get ready in a relaxed atmosphere – just as if we were at home. The rooms themselves were excellent; each had their own bathroom & very comfortable beds (a BIG plus considering some of the hotel beds we’ve been in!) as well as cable TV and a VCR. The view from each of the rooms overlooked the extensive vegetable and flower garden below; just beautiful in the early morning. There is a video collection in the hallway for those folks interested in putting in a movie and settling in for the night. We, however, needed to take advantage of the fold-out ironing board in the hallway to prep for our evening. Even though we came in late, Paul didn’t lock us out!
Breakfast was fabulous and gave us a chance to chat with Paul and Susan as well as some of the other guests staying at the house. It was more like visiting with friends than staying at a hotel – with Paul running into the kitchen to whip up his awesome banana pancakes while we contented ourselves with coffee and toast. We lingered at breakfast far too long talking about a million different things & really didn’t want to pack up and head out.
