This hotel is the best value of all in town; we are originally from here and frequently return to visit and have stayed in virtually all the area hotels. This is not the highest end (we go to Wentworth by the Sea, another Marriott property when we want complete luxury) or the most family friendly (we prefer one of the two Residence Inn properties for that, with kitchen etc included which is handy for an extended stay) but for a quick/affordable getaway or business trip, this is the place! It is currently almost done being updated so very nice/new textiles & furnishings. Also, a new Smart board tech center in the lobby for browsing, along with a restaurant (may be convenient for business people bc no free breakfast like at the Residence Inns, not worth the money to practically anyone else, overpriced and many other places in town to choose from The Golden Egg being #1 local fave go early to avoid line), coffee & fireplace. Fitness Center and nice pool w/veranda as well, tho not on a scenic lot, just off one of the main sidestreets but set back enough noise not a prob. About a mile from town but could walk if you wanted, direct street in (this is 1000 Market st; #1 Market St is downtown). Easy to drive in tho, parking is reasonable 75c/hour in lots/town garage, I think after 7pm free. Anyway, FYI SOME of the rooms have small balconies, but not most, you would have to request that. Just wanted to clarify that from an earlier reviewer; most rooms do not have balcony. Nothing to see anyway, just in a business park type lot. I would get the bigger room w/balcony if trav w/family but if just a quick trip, an unnecc. expense. The regular (one bed or two bed) rooms are completely adequate. marble bath, fridge/micro combo, coffeemaker, flatscreen tv etc. Spotless (my number one priority always no matter the porice point! and yes I am one of those weirdos that strips the bed and checks it for bedbugs etc, science degree, sorry! but my pickiness is your gain!) and most comf beds of any hotel we've stayed! Literally snoring like 5 seconds after my head hit the pillow and I am one of those people that take an hour to fall asleep normally! So plush! Pleasant surprise! And not sure about the trouble someone else had with the staff, we have stayed here several times & they have been very accommodating, espec when the entire region lost power last year and we relocated there for a week or so since no power/water at home. Anyway, for the cleanliness, location and higher end Courtyard feel, this is our go to place to stay in the area when we need a reasonable rate; It is usually 100 less than the others in town and it's only a mile down the street. If you go right out of the drive, you can go immed left onto the highway and straight into Maine/Kittery (Kittery outlets & York Beach/Nubble Light) in about 5 mins; or you can go right and straight right into town (bevy of boutique shopping, restaurants and Prescott Park, The Music Hall etc.). If you go left out the drive, there is a grocery store, pharmacy, and NH Malls/movies for tax free shopping. It's actually an ideal base! Stay here and save your money to spend shopping & eating!
They have one bed, two bed, two bed plus sofabed units. Some w/balcony to stretch out on, tho no act...
