“Great value, wonderful accommodations!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

We spent 4 nights here for our summer vacation. The only reason I gave a 3 for location was we had to drive 15-20min to the beach every day(which was FINE with us) also it was near a highway. The pool was clean and the hotel was very clean including the lobby. Dave the van driver (shuttle to Portsmouth ) was overly accommodating. We will definitely return to the hotel or recommend to others! The continental breakfast had a typical fairfield spread.... PLENTY of options, waffles, fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, yogurt, juice etc. If you prefer a full breakfast there's a great diner on the roundabout right down the street. We are early risers but had no trouble with noisy neighbors. We stay at Fairfield often and I would call this one above average! Thanks for a great stay! Plenty of great restaurants nearby (driving).

Looking for a one night rest - Fairfield Inn by Marriott did it again. Room is clean as always. Breakfast is good and abundant. Receptionist at this hotel were helpful and knowledgeable with the area directing us to the main hub of beautiful Portsmouth and Kittery, Maine. And Fairfield has a shuttle going to the town - what a regal way to treat customers!
Portsmouth is a perfect little town with rows of adorable shops and restaurants with the best view of the ocean. We were entertained while walking in this beautiful town by two children playing violin 'classical music' ah refreshing and relaxing beautiful Portsmouth. We shall return.

Even for an economy hotel, this hotel was very poor. Our room was clean. We were in a room right around the corner of the lobby and near the PC station the was communal. I was woken up at 6:15 by two woman talking. The door and walls were paper thin. I thought they were in the room with us. Furthermore, once the hotel began to wake up - the noise from the lobby was intense - including a crying child wanting her Mommy.

The floor outside our room was tile, then it became carpeted. The sound of pulled luggage going over the tile portion of the sounded like a freight train.

The came the complimentary breakfast. Let's say, you get what you pay for. The scrambled eggs and sausage were ice cold. Plastic utensils and card board plates - could they spare it.

Absolutely will never stay at a Fairfield Inn again, especially this one.

Room Tip: Stay out of the rooms around the corner of the lobby.

Thank you for writing about your recent stay at our hotel. We appreciate your comments regarding the noises heard within your room and have made notes for future reference. Although you had not found value with our complimentary breakfast, we are appreciative of your recognition of our clean rooms.

We are hopeful you will reconsider to return and stay on a higher level floor for a more pleasant experience.

Sincerely,

Hotel staff was very good and friendly. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Only problem with the rooms was a constant blinking light... Smoke detector? In the summer, staying in a hotel with kids, pools are important.. Stayed 3 days and everyday the pool was closed with a chain lock. Every day inquired with the front desk and they claimed it was open but each time we checked back and the chain lock was still on even after they said they were opening it.

Thank you for sharing your comments about your recent experience at our hotel. We appreciate your recognition of our hotel staff as good and friendly. The circumstances relating to the pool closure was unfortunate but necessary at that time. Please be assured that this occurrence is rare. We know how important our pool is for families and apology for any inconvenience it may have caused. We hope that you will stay with us again.

Thank you again for writing.

The staff were extremely helpful and nice. Lindsey at the front desk was a lifesaver. Hotel is centrally located, has an outdoor pool, is close to downtown and can get to Maine extremely fast. A great bargain in summer for the area.

First time I have stayed here and was pleasantly surprised. I was in for business and location convenient to airport and downtown area. Staff very nice and helpful. No real business center but there is a computer and printer if needed. Breakfast typical but some good healthy options. Outside pool was very nice and great for kids.

I stayed in this hotel for one night with family. Everybody had a good time and the stay was pleasant altogether. Friendly personnel at check-in. Quiet location with good access to the Interstate, but only minutes away from the city center. The hotel also offers a courtesy shuttle to "downtown" Portsmouth. Shuttle leaves every 30 minutes and is very convenient. Little outdoor pool, but hotel provides access pass to external fitness center with Olympic size pool. I would recommend this property for families and weekend vacation, not so much for extended business trip.
