“Great food at reasonable prices.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

It's not easy finding a place in Portsmouth that is not over-priced and/or overrated but this is one of them. Colby's has a mellow, friendly atmosphere with an attentive wait staff and great breakfast food. 2 breakfasts and 2 bloodies for less than $30, hard to beat.

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

This was our first visit. Breakfast was great! Large portions, very inexpensive, and it came out very quickly. We had the corn beef hash breakfast and bloody marys. The bloody marys were home made and spicy.

“Delicious breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

Great little breakfast and lunch business around the corner from the Ale House in which we stayed for the weekend. Hubby and I had a 20 minute wait on a Saturday morning but with coffee flowing the time passed quickly. It is a small restaurant but a fast paced cook and staff keep the tables hopping. I had a hash and egg plate and couldn't finish it. Hubby had a breakfast medley with French toast, bacon, and egg and home fries, fabulous. It was a perfect way to start our day and we even got a window seat! We'll visit again next time we come to Portsmouth.

“Nice but slightly overrated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

I was told that Colby's was THE place for foodies to enjoy breakfast. And while I think it was very good -- and the coffee and the service and the setting were all excellent -- I wouldn't go haywire over the place! It's very nice, don't get me wrong. And there's a nice menu and everyone seemed very happy with their dishes. Very good place. Just NOT superlative. And if you're a foodie and are looking for something REALLY over the moon I suspect this is going to come up a bit -- but just a bit -- short.

“Fast & Fresh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Good little breakfast place with at home atmosphere. Beware the poor parking in downtown Portsmouth, some meters are 15 minutes they charge you to park everywhere so budget an extra $2 for the City with your breakfast.
