“Great breakfast food, all day, in an unique setting. An Original!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

We visited this restaurant for dinner. It is is the historical area of Portsmouth, NH. The restaurant has decor of all things from the 40-60's It was very cool and original. The staff was friendly and the food amazing. I had the cashew pancakes with coconut and chocolate with a coconut sauce, excellent! Others tried the New Hampshire omelet. It was voted the best at the table. Recommend this hidden gem!

“Solid breakfast”

Good, standard breakfast. Unique cafe furnishings. Want to go back for lunch and try the lobster macaroni and cheese!

“Great choice for lunch over many seafood venues”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I stopped in Portsmouth on our way to Maine. We weren't in the mood for seafood and Friendly Toast caught our attention with some great reviews posted at the entrance. We enjoyed a hearty meatloaf sandwich and one of the gourmet grilled cheese choices. We opted for onion rings and cheese fries for sides. Healthier choices are offered as are many, many tantalizing selections. Highly recommend this place. Service was very friendly and fast even on a busy Saturday afternoon.

“A GEM”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Accidentally stumbled upon this place years ago while passing through Portsmouth for the night. Such a neat funky place with really good food and HUGE portions. I always get the blueberry pancakes. My mom loves their burger. I'd be shocked if this wasn't the top spot for brunch in Portsmouth.

“TOO slow for lunch”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

If it is a beautiful summer time and you're on your way to the beach or pool, don't stop here for lunch. We were 3 adults and 5 children; ages from 4 to 10 and the wait was excruciating for all of us. Our 2:00 ish lunch turned into a 4:00 meal instead. There were hardly any customers in the place. When a complaint was made, an excuse was someone (who arrived after us) had food allergies, causing the kitchen extra work.
