“Rusty Hammer rustic charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Went to the Rusty Hammer and had a beer with a half sandwich and soup. The soup was really, really good! Sandwich was great! My husband had a burger which he said was super. The place definitely has that hole in the wall feel but that is part of the allure here. I think the bartender has been tending the bar since it opened 30+ years ago. Has a real rustic home town kind of feel.

“Good bar fare”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

Lobster roll and Hamburger were excellent. Beer selection was first class. Pricing was fair. It is a bar/restaurant for casual dining.

“Good meals at a reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012 via mobile

We stopped in here for a bite to eat over the weekend. We both ordered "wimpy burgers". I had the green mountain chicken wimpy and my husband had the Lousianna wimpy burger. We enjoyed the meal, the price and the atmosphere. We will definitely come back again. The food was very good.

“Good Chowda!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012 via mobile

Stopped in here for a quick lunch as were checking out Market square. Hostess was sweet and helpful. Really good chowder and tasty battered shrimp. The fried haddock needed more seasoning. Good place to stop in for some chowder and beer!

“Great choice for lunch, can be packed at night.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

In town with friends and chose the Hammer for lunch. Service by "Susan" was snappy and attentive with a sense of humor. Food excellent and reasonably priced. Go at lunch because it can get jammed and very loud at night.
