The Wellington Room is located along the pier at Portsmouth. Our table overlooked the harbor, from the second floor. The place is cozy, with exposed brick walls, intimate tables, and impeccable service in the tiny dining room. It is a terrific place for a special occasion. The salads boasted perfect specimens of lettuce, beets, and dressings, depending on the one ordered. The bouillabaisse was tasty, but there was a thick and sparse sauce at the bottom, instead of being in a garlicky broth. We had to ask for extra sauce, because while the scallops were cooked perfectly, the mussels and shrimp were on the dry side. We would have preferred a more traditional bouillabaisse, and a broth would have help disguise the dryer components of seafood. The dessert of sorbets was delicious, though.
