Like a London pub, The Coat of Arms relies on it's atmosphere, drink selections and hearty food to keep diners and drinkers coming back. Located across from the lower entrance to the municipal parking garage on Fleet Street, it's all about atmosphere and not view at the rustic coat.
We like the two curry dishes, the Curried Chicken Pita sandwich and the Chicken Curry dinner, but the meat pies are also excellent. Enjoy with a pint of Guinness or Harp.
The crowd here tends to be 20s and 30s and lively, so this is not your place for a romantic couples dinner and I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 12. But for a reasonably priced, very god, hearty meal and a cold beer, in a pub atmosphere, this is the place to come in Portsmouth. Beats RiRa, hands down for pubishness, although if it's an Irish accent you are looking for, then RiRa is your place.
