I first visited about 15 years ago on a misty day in September. I got the most gorgeous photos that day & have been in love with it ever since! I cannot speak for the events there, like the concerts or the festivals, but I am sure they must be great too. The gardens are surrounded by a white picket fence with these wonderful trees with limbs that angle in all the right places and make a lovely subject for photos. There is a fountain, colorful flowers and other horticultural delights as well as a brick walk through out the property. I saw several people having their professional photos taken,as well as a Bridal party. My last visit being over Columbus Day weekend, I have never visited in the spring, it has always been mid summer into the fall. If you want nice pictures you might want to go during the week, otherwise, you may have to wait to get some shots without people in the way. Parking was close and the area surrounding the gardens are nice as well and close to the waterfront. The only suggestion I have is to paint the inside of the fountain, the blue paint is peeling a bit & discolored. I only say this from a photographic prospective & I am in no way criticizing the maintenance of the park. Again, I only speak of the gardens here and it's someplace I have to see everytime I am up in this area! I never get tired of the gardens!
