“Good group restaraunt”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

Great server and food could have been a little better. Veggies were cold and pork was overdone. Atmosphere was excellent and food came put in a reasonable time

“Typical greatness..but on steroids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

We are C-Man fans. Though winding through streets of Portsmouth isn't always easy, its well worth it. Everything, including menu specials, menu fare (we had lunch), atmosphere, service & attentiveness were there, but well above average, even by C-Man standards. Good job to staff & managers. We are proud to bring first-timers with us!

“Wonderful Restaurant for Gluten Intolerant Patrons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Great food, reasonably priced, fantastic service. Being Gluten Intolerant, it is hard to find restaurants that can accommodate my diet (and have good food!) We both had the prime Rib without the au jus - which was very very good. I would definitely go back and from what I have read from other readers, there are a few of them around. Good to know. It was very nice to see that the waitress never skipped a beat when I mentioned that I was Gluten Intolerant and made it very easy to choose from their extensive menu!

Will be back!

“Our favorite place in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

There was another place my husband and I always used to go while in town (cough, cough Friendly Toast, cough, cough) but we became tired of the rising prices and poor service. Fortunately, a couple years ago The Common Man opened in Portsmouth. We LOVE the Common Man in Lincoln and happily, this one is exactly the same -- the culinary equivalent of a warm and cozy blanket. The traditional comfort food is complimented with a seafood selection to appeal to the location. Everything is always satisfying and the quirks of the restaurant (white chocolate, checks in old books) leave a smile on your face. For my most recent visit, I was fortunate to have Amanda as my server who really went above and beyond to make sure our visit was a pleasant one.
