“"Dream Vacation"”

Staying atTall Timbers "Gramps Cottage" was an absolute high of our summer vacation.
Swimming and fishing in the beautiful small lake. Hiked nearby mountains and swam at
Garfield Falls. The jacuzzi was just what we needed for weekend warrior muscles.
Double bonus to have theRainbow Grill on site. Ate all our meals there. Delicious and
enjoyed the staffs warm personalities. Everyone went out of their way to make our
stay special.

Room Tip: All cabins equally great. Your choice of closeness to lake, fire pits and privacy.

The most relaxing stay we have ever had. Stayed in Angler's Cove over Labor Day weekend. Arrived on Thursday and left on Monday. Never moved the car. Took the boat across the lake to the lodge for dinner or any needed supplies. Accommodations were excellent. Our little boy made me promise we'd be back.

We have been coming to Tall Timber's for four years now and plan to keep coming. My son has only named about half the ducks that follow you around, so we still have our work cut out for us. Food in the Rainbow Grill is always exceptional, with interesting game specials, and the service first rate. These folks go out of their way to accommodate you and are very knowledgeable about the area and the fishing prospects. Plenty of water activities with the Connie C, fishing boats, canoes and kayaks. They have boats located on alot of the outlying lakes and ponds, and don't mind if you 'borrow' a canoe to take to one. We usually stay in Hemlock as it is right on the water and close to the lodge, but may try What A View next year.

Room Tip: Do your research as the cabins are all different and accommodate various size parties. We try to ar...

My wife and I happened upon Tall Timber Lodge in late June. We were looking for a one or two night stay to complete our June vacation before teaching the summer session. The wonderful lodge folks found a luxury lakeside home which was actually discounted due to last minute availability. We will never forget that marvelous night! My wife surprised me with a full week's stay in late August. The home called,"Bess" leaves absolutely nothing to want. The facility is beautiful. The setting is heaven on earth and the care taken by staff is first class. This home, on the shore of Back Lake in the heart of the Great North Woods is the realization of every non-camper, nature-loving, fly and spin fisherman's treasured dream. From the shimmering sun reflecting on he walls after sunrise to the loons calling from feet away just after sunset, this respite cannot be beaten. The rental comes with a motor boat tied up at the home's pier. It also comes with an abundance of trout and smallmouth bass. A very helpful employee comes by each day to check on the boat as well. Thinking about this vacation, now past leaves me sighing and dreaming of next June when we have already reserved the house once again.

Room Tip: There is a wide variety of accommodation for every budget.

Been coming here to fly fish for 6 years. Always an enjoyable trip. Staff are very friendly. Nice, fly/gift shop. Rooms are clean, not fancy but the atmosphere is perfect for being up in the woods. Food at the Rainbow Grlle is quite good and the Tavern is a great place to relax after a long day of fishing.

This was our 3rd consecutive year at Tall Timber and it was excellent. My son and I do a "boys week..." We fish the lakes and river, hang out, swim, boat and hike. We're regulars at the Rainbow Grill Tavern...excellent food and service.

This year we again hiked Magalloway and the 4th Ct Lake, and visited Garfield Falls.

Gramps is a great cabin, 15 feet from the water...beautiful sunrises and sunsets. TTL is a real getaway in the Northern Woods...off the grid with wonderful accomodations and hosts. Reservations already booked for next year!

We stayed in the Evergreen cabin it was nice. We did alot of atving during the day and sat by the lake in the evening. We had a cookout at the cabin one night and it was a nice place to relax. The cabin was about 150 yards from the lake and the cabins beside us were not close like the ones by the lake so you had more privacy Would stay here again in the future.
