“Great place to eat in the monadnocks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2007

I love this place. It is small and has a pleasant Bistro feel. The staff are excellent, polite, friendly and helpful. Prices are fair and the food interesting and well prepared. This Asian fusion restaurant is the kind of place you'd expect to find in a city, not in a little town like Peterborough. The specials are always good. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, make reservations unless you want to wait for a table. The place buzzes! We are regulars there.

“Wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2007

I've been to the Pearl twice and each meal was excellent. The staff was great and the prices very reasonable. I've recommended this hidden restaurant to everyone I know. Easy to find, being on Route 202, but don't blink, or you'll drive right by the plaza and miss it.

“Fabulous Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2006

When you think of New England seafood restaurants, the image that comes to mind is blue-haired ladies in sensible shoes dining on baked scrod covered in bread crumbs. Who would have thought? Pearl is crawling with beautiful young cuties eating cutting edge Pacific Rim cuisine. The scene on a Saturday night is chaotic--they don't take reservations, but it's worth the wait. Trust me. The room is chic, the noise is deafening, and the only blue hair you'll see is on the tattooed biker chick with multiple piercings talking to the Evan Dando wannabe sitting at the next table.

“Incredible Oysters in a Shopping Center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2006

Almost the last place you would expect to find fresh oysters! Next to Radio Shack in a sleepy shopping Center in small town New Hampshire. But make no mistake: the oysters--four or five varieties which frequently change--are of high quality, only slightly less outstanding than those at New York's Grand Central Oyster Bar. The food the open kitchen produces is worth a detour too. Asian influenced (more Japanese and Vietnamese), the menu is limited in length but not in imagination. Among my favorites: the sesame seared Ahi tuna with white and black seeds, carefully sliced and presented at room temperature over jasmine rice; hoisin-marinated sea scallops accompanied by hot and sour slaw and jasmine rice. Most fun: the beef and spicy (fermented) black bean “Roll Your Owns." A small selection of beer and even more limited selection of wine. Crowded and rather noisy on weekends.
