There has been a long wait for this restaurant to open with lots of build-up on Facebook. We visited on opening day, not sure if it would live up to the hype. It was great! There were the usual opening issues but they were pretty minor. The menu is varied, featuring everything from small plates to salads to burgers to flatbreads to full entrees. Their seasonal entree selections enticed us. I ordered the mac and cheese with lobster. The portions -- of both pasta and lobster -- were huge. My only complaint: the dish could have used more seasoning. My husband had the meatloaf, made from beef, pork, chicken and veal. The two large slices were paired with tasty mashed potatoes and great fresh veggies. The brewery isn't up and running yet but they have a decent tap list of New England beers. The server could have been a bit more knowledgeable about the offerings but I'm sure that will come. The dessert list sounded enticing but, alas, we had no room.
The owners have done a great job with the decor. It's warm and welcoming and tables are spaced far enough apart for privacy. On opening night they weren't serving food at the bar but that will probably be an option down the road.
All in all, it was a great experience. It adds a much-needed dining option to the area. We'll definitely be back -- maybe even for a return visit during opening week!
