My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights during a recent New England trip. The inn was quite nice, but it does need to be redone a bit. The inn keepers are quite pleasant and provide a fair amount of information for the area. Dining recommendations were somewhat sparse, but that's because there are very few nice places to eat in the immediate area. Though there are a few eateries within walking distance, they vary between basic and rough. Though the inn is on a main street, it is hardly a highway. Traffic pretty much dwindles to zero by late night, so it was very quite for sleeping. Since their was no air conditioning (or not on), we had windows open and fan on in the evening. This made it pretty pleasant for sleeping. Outside street noise was not an issue at all.
The home made, made to order breakfast was exceptionally good. Omelets, eggs, french toast, also home made muffins. All were very good. Could not have asked for anything better. Only minor issue; no meat of any kind. I think the inn keepers may be vegetarian??
Oh, also the inn is for sale. Things may change, so check to see if ownership has changed.
