“Nice place to set up a tent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

Nice campground. Lots of room for tents for last minute campers like us. Washrooms were clean and not too far away from the tent sites. There were a lot of RV's as this campground is mostly for RV's. The grounds were well kept and clean.

Friendly staff. We would stay again. Be aware of skunks!

This camground caters to RV's, but there were grassy tent sites that bordered the woods. The bathrooms were very clean, and the staff was helpful. The sites are very small and the road noise was too loud for me. The campround was very well maintained, just not woodsy camping at all. Probably wouldn't go back.

People were REALLY nice... wood and ice are really cheap... But there are a LOT of kids and families (meaning everyone is up at 7 in the morning crying/screaming).

Beware of the skunks.. they are not afraid to raid your tent.

I wouldn't recommend it for people without children but the place is great.

And its near Hampton beach / Jeness Beach / Rye Beach.

Room Tip: Do not get a tent site near the children playground.

Just spent a couple of days here August 8,9 and 10 of 2012. This is a perfect spot if you want to go to the beach. Typical layout not very private. But it is the cleanest campground I have ever stayed at. Showers and bath houses are spotless and we stayed during a 100% occ. The staff and management are the nicest people you could ever meet. We camp a great deal mostly in the woods so to us this was just a place to stay. But We will return veruy soon. And now we know the sites. This is a 10 star place.

I' ve been coming here sincère 1993. For 8 years , we didn't camp. But this year I decided to start again and what a better place than Shelal. I' ve always felt at home here. The family is just wonderful. The site is beautiful, clean and secure. Everything you need is close by.

Thank you to Shelley and Allison and their staff for making this a wonderful vacation once again. We Will be back next year !

The owners and staff at the campground made us feel welcome. The other campers are friendly. I loved that a cable connection was not an option (please - never add cable). My husband and I played rummy, talked, and walked. This was a wonderful and very clean campground. We will definitely be back!

We were stuck in New Hampshire with truck problems. Good Sam found this campground for us to park our 5th wheel while waiting for repairs on the truck. If we had to get stuck in New Hampshire, Shel-Al Campgrounds was the perfect place to be sent. Everyone at the campground from the front office to the seasonal campers were helpful and sympathetic, from giving us rides to the store to listening patiently to our stories. The campground was clean and well organized, with trash pickup on a regular basis. I will find a reason to go back to Shel-Al in the future.
