“Fantastic family resort in North Conway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We've stayed at several places in North Conway (hotels, motels, condos, etc), and had been planning at least one more visit back to Storyland before the season was over - and suddenly saw a groupon for the Fox Ridge Resort that was too good to pass up.

I nervously pulled into the resort, hoping it would be a nice place to celebrate our birthday weekend (my mother, myself and my daughter all have birthdays the same weekend!)
We were all very pleasantly surprised! Nothing over-the-top fancy, but a lot of great pluses. Two pools, free little mini golf course, resort activities all day long like yoga, popsicles at the pool for kids, etc. For an additional fee you can get tickets to an indoor water park at the affiliated Red Jacket just a couple blocks away. Big rooms, with a fridge inside the room, and a very helpful room layout (the bathroom had the tub/shower and loo, but the sink and some towels, etc were outside the bathroom, making it easier for us to get ready quickly in the morning with kids, or wind down at night.) A nice little patio is also attached to the room, with a door at the back of the room opening up to a lovely view of the mountains and the outdoor pool in the distance. Also, I didn't realize that there was a free breakfast buffet - and it was much bigger and nicer than in other area places we have stayed, with a large seating area. The place isn't super modern, but well designed with attentive staff and a fantastic location.

My family stayed in one of your rooms with queen beds. We have a 2 year old and a 13 year old. Needless to say it is difficult to find a place that pleases them both but here it did. The staff was wonderful and helpful. Would definitely recommend and go back on our next trip to the area.

We recently stayed here for 2 nights and had a less than enjoyable stay. At check-in I asked what the $10 per night resort fee covered. One thing mentioned was the use of the Kahuna Laguna water park at their sister hotel. We arrived at the water park to find that there is an additional fee. When I spoke to the manager about the fact that this information was not given, he told me that it is listed on the website. The rooms were neat but very outdated and we heard a child crying incessantly, throughout the wall the first night. When we returned to our room the first evening, the bed was partially made, pillows on the table and the window was left wide open.( Not a great idea with a first floor room with no in room safe). The manager said he would let housekeeping staff know when I brought this to his attention. North Conway is a beautiful area but there are definitely better options for an equal price.

We have been staying at Fox Ridge since the weekend it opened, on summer vacations and ski vacations we have found it clean and the folks are typical New England "great folks" very close to everything in North Conway and the Northern Kingdom..As I said it's mid 70s very little has been done but the food is great and not expensive at all..

Room Tip: You want to face the pool area with a view of the Mountains.. It's well off Rt. 16 therefore th...

Loved to hear that you were here on opening weekend. Where does time go? Glad you had a nice stay. Nice recommendation to get the Mountain View rooms they are some of the best views in the Mount Washington Valley. Look forward to your return visit.

Reserved the Family Alcove room online for 4 adults/1 teenager. Upon arrival, discovered the 2-twin bed alcove was too tight for our teenager & adult (perfect for small children, but not really suitable for our "big" kids who like their space), so we returned to front desk to request a room change. Lillian at the front desk was gracious and more than accommodating. She found an available loft room, but it wasn't yet ready for occupancy. As we gathered our luggage and prepared to wait, Lillian called us and told us that she could upgrade us to a mountain view suite immediately (no wait). This room was perfect - much more than we expected, with plenty of space. Two queen beds, 2 twin beds in an upstairs loft, and an extra attached kitchen area with a pull-out sofabed. Lillian went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and we were very grateful. All the staff here are fantastic. Very friendly, very pleasant, hard working and efficient. Hotel is clean and grounds are beautiful. Didn't use the indoor pool, but enjoyed the mini-golf and the outdoor pool with the afternoon poolside popsicles. Teenager took the free shuttle bus to the Kahuna Laguna waterpark at the sister hotel down the street, and loved it. He even talked Mom (me) into joining him one day, enticing me with the fact that there is a 25-person jacuzzi in the waterpark! Great place for the adults to hang out while the kids enjoy the waterslides. Breakfast buffet was a highlight - good variety of items, something for everyone. Very busy and noisy, but buffet attendants were fabulous - constantly moving to keep tables clean and guests happy. Dawn in particular took great care of us every morning - she is a gem! We actually remembered her from a previous stay. She greeted us every morning and made sure we were well taken care of. The staff here is the primary reason we return to Fox RIdge every time we visit North Conway.

Thank you so much for a wonderful review. You are spot on when you say Lillian and the front desk team are very friendly, very pleasant hard working and efficient. Great to hear that you enjoyed the Water Park. And you're right Dawn is a gem this is her fourth year with us and we love her. Hope you enjoy these last few days of summer.

My family and I went to this resort for a few days to celebrate the 4th of July. We all liked the resort. While I agree with some of the other reviewers in that it could use some updating, it was totally clean. The grounds were also beautiful. The buffet breakfast was basic but we are there every morning of our stay and we all agreed it was good-bacon, sausage, eggs, pan cakes, etc. We would stay there again!!

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. It's hard to believe that summer is almost over. Please think about coming up for the Beautiful fall foliage colors and possibly the Fryeburg Fair. Look forward to your next visit.

Excellent staff, Beautifully landscaped, 2 pools, Frisbee golf (nice touch), mini golf, fire pit, free breakfast (busy with lots of kids but plenty of food).
Free wi fi.
Room was large but loft had a really low ceiling. Clean but need updating. Beds comfortable and the room was quiet even with so many kids in the hotel. Good location.
