This year we decided to come back to The Colonial again but for
5 days instead of 3. This year we decided to bring along our laptop to keep in touch with home easier. Our only complaint was that the wireless internet to our room was intermittent. the only way we got consistant reception was outside on the chairs provided. The owners apologized and said that it should work and maybe it was my laptop. it worked in 3 other hotels we stayed at just fine. Other than that, we loved the place and would go back next year, we just wouldn't say in room 8 because of the lack of wireless there. (sort of between the 2 routers they have).

We stopped here for 1 night on our 2 day trip to Storyland. We chose this hotel because it was rated so highly on this website. It is conveniently located. The room was clean, and the bathroom was squeaky clean. The furniture looked like it was all from another era like the 70's, in a quaint way.
There was a fire going when we arrived around 7 and our children ages 4 and 7 loved toasting marshmallows and smores.
The owners are very friendly and gave good recommendations about restaurants, directions, and other questions.
Our room faced the street but noise was not an issue.
It's within walking distance to downtown and centrally located.
We would definitely stay here again. It is a great value if you are looking for a clean room with reasonable rates in a central location.

PS - Tripadvisor, you have never let us down!

While traveling to North Conway, us and another couple stayed at this motel for two nights in August. The motel is a clean, basic motel. The decore could use some updating but the friendly owners more then make up for this. Coffee and tea was offered in the offce and ice was also available at the office. There is a pool in back of the motel that was clean and refreshing. It is a 10 minute walk to downtown and the best food we have eaten in a long time. The motel owner suggested the Horsefeather Pub for a meal and we are glad we listened. We ate there twice and it was all we could do to eat everything that was put in front of us. Also go to Peaches for breakfast it was great. I would reccoment this motel to everyone and I would love to visit again.

The motel was clean and had just basic accomodations. But the double bed was as hard as a rock. Furnishings, bed, and tv are outdated and need updating. No in room telephone. I definitely will not be back...clean is important, but so is comfort and this motel lacked that in the matrress and furnishings.
