“Briarcliff's the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2007

Briarcliff Motel is wonderful. We booked two rooms as a friend was going with us and we had excellent accommodations. Both rooms had screened in porches facing a beautiful view of the mountains and the rooms also overlooked the pool area. This motel has it posted for "no disturbances after 10:00 P.M" and that is great. Our friend's room was next door to a family with two children and she never knew there were children in it until she saw them going to their car the next morning - that's how quiet it is. The staff was great. Gave us good pointers for eating facilities and things to do in the area. We recommend Briarcliff Motel 100%. We will be visiting again in the future.

Found this motel to be well worth the price and helpful with the AAA rating. The room was clean and comfortable and did not smell. It was cleaned well the second day by housekeeping. The pool was clean and well taken care of.

All motels in valley that we stopped at had a 2-night minimum, even though we were only looking for one night. The Briarcliff didn’t mind giving us a room for one night at all. From what we have seen after years of traveling to the area it was the nicest and cleanest motel around. Right on Main Street makes it easy to walk to restaurants & shops and use all the coupons they offered us. Front desk was more than helpful, they went out of their way to take messages for us while we were out, gave lots of advice on area, and was very friendly. They gave us a 2-person rate even though we had 3 adults (all senior citizens). Seems to have all exterior corridors, the room had very nice décor, I’m not sure if newly renovated but they look that way. At first we were worried about possible noise, but all through the day and night we didn’t hear one peep inside the room. They had Fresh coffee, tea (Chi tea my favorite) and hot chocolate in the lobby, which was good for me because I really enjoy fresh coffee in the morning especially when I don’t have to make it! They had a common room with a microwave, so we made some popcorn. It had a Soda and Ice machine in there and an ironing board too, just incase your clothes get wrinkled I guess. All in all in was a very pleasant stay, reasonably priced too.

I loved the decor of this motel! It has plaid wall paper which adds a real New England feel to the stay. The room we got was spacious and had a glassed in porch to view the white mountains from, the view was gorgeous! The front desk person was very friendly and helpful in giving suggestions for the local restaurants and shopping outlets. We also got some great coupons that gave us a good discount to over 20 brand name stores. If my husband and i make it back to the mount washington valley we will definitely be staying here!

Stayed here first weekend of January. Lots of other places to stay but they all raise the price 25-50% on the weekend. Price at the Briarcliff only went up $5 on the weekend. Nice, clean rooms with their own private glassed in porch overlooking mountains. Complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available all day in office. Drive up units are great to unload all your shopping bargains!!
