“Clean and spacious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Stayed here a couple of nights with the wife and kids. The wi-fi is free and no hassle, connect and go. The room was spacious, even with the pull out couch fully extended. Very close to the outlets, although I would drive, seeing that you will probably be going back with plenty of bags in hand. Close to a Walmart and Shaw's grocery. The kitchen was fine, although a fry pan would have been nice. There was NO oven in our room, only two burner stovetop. Breakfast was good. The lady at the front desk was a pleasure.

I did have to turn the refrigerator down to #1 because it kept making popping and crackling noises. And the bed felt like it was 20 years old, in that it was quite indented...

Compared to the Worcester (MA) Residence Inn at which I recently stayed, I found the room at Residence Inn at North Conway a bit disappointing. We had a one bedroom suite, which touts a 'full kitchen.' The overall impression was that the room was small compared to Worcester. As at other Residence Inns, the 'full kitchen' lacks an oven, but has everything else. One of the cabinet doors was off its hinges, and the switch for the garbage disposal was located well behind the microwave. There were pots and pans, but no frying pan. There was service for four, but the table could only reasonably accommodate two. We were disappointed that there was no DVD player, and none available. The bed was comfortable, and the double sofa bed was reasonably comfortable for one. The heating system was perplexing... when we lowered the thermostat, the AC blew cold air into the room. The bathroom was larger than the Worcester version, but the closet was inadequate. A long term stay for more than one person would be uncomfortable in my opinion. Sound carried from upstairs and the hallway. Luckily there is a 10 pm noise curfew. The pool was nice, temp was good. The hot tub was good. Overall the facility is clean. The breakfast buffet was very good, with plenty of room for dining, including a separate room. We were there during school vacation week, so the place was lively. There is an outdoor fire pit. Overall, the experience was fine for one night.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor, overlooking a roof, and with no view. A higher floor would be better. We...

Staff are very accomadating with your stay and needs. My wife and I enjoyed the cleanlinest and hospitality troughout our stay...definitely recommended for a place to stay. It is a very friendly environment and nice to be greeted by staff with a smile.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights to do some skiing in the area. The rooms and common areas are nice in this Residence Inn. Very similar to other newer Residence Inns with the modern look and the red couches, etc... What offsets the nice decor and feel of the place is the very poor insulation between the rooms. We heard people on both sides of us and above. I mean we were surrounded by muffled talking in all directions. It wasn't like everyone was partying, it's just that the walls and floors must have very little insulation and normal conversations and TV's could be heard. This was a dealbreaker for me. We tried t go to bed around 10 each evening but couldn't fall asleep until all of our neighbors went to sleep. The cleanliness of the room was the other issue. There were dirty washcloths (2) in the shower and there was something stained and crusty on the couch in a couple places (white crusty-YUCK). Breakfast was average but I think the hampton inns and HI express free breakfasts are better than this Marriot's free one. Front desk staff was nice. The pool and hot tub area was very clean and modern. I give this a poor rating mainly due to the room not being clean and the noise due to poor build quality.

Stayed here two years ago - things have gone downhill

- No room cleaning to speak of (counters left un-wiped, dirty cloth napkins left in place)
- Two similar roach-like bugs (one spotted each day)
- Staff did not respond assertively to the issues I raised.

Enough said - would not stay here again until change of direction,

Two years ago we had a better experience, but this trip was so bad that we had to leave and go to another hotel. We booked a suite this trip b/c that's all that was available. Our room was on the second floor, at the end of the hall near the stairs where all the suites are, which is a design flaw. Pay more for more noise. The bed had such a thin comforter on it that we had to turn the heat up to 74+ just to feel comfortable, and the mattress was so worn that there were obvious and creepy indents on either side of the bed from repeat previous guests. The noise from people running up and down the stairs was almost constant, but worse was the group of people above us who were so loud we couldn't relax. The floors were either poorly constructed or the guests above us were children running, banging, and making noise until 11 PM and starting at 730 AM. We requested another room but they didn't have any until the next day and we decided to leave instead. Staff were friendly and understanding when we left. The lobby decor and breakfast would be the things we could say were positive. Very disappointed Marriott Members!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the top floor and in the middle of the hallway. Avoid suites at the end of the hal...

We stayed there for three nights and the problems started when we checked in. They have spots for two people to be at the front desk. The line was not too long and moved fast, but they have two computers. When we got to our room i found two surprises in the bathroom. The toilet is oval but the seat/lid is a circle. And,there was an unidentifiable thing on the shower curtain. Otherwise the room was fine, except i could see into another room from the window. One very very very good thing about this hotel is, we called the front desk three or four times, every time the same guy came up with a smile and was always friendly, Omar. The second or third time,he gave us popcorn. Omar keep up the great work, you make me want to come back. The breakfast was NOT what i expected. The waffles were a let down. The pool looked nice but we never got a chance to go in it. The area where you get your food is in like a little alcove and there are a lot of people in there and the second morning we were there, a young man fainted. But the ladies working there handled the problem and did very well job. The EMT`s did come and he should be doing well now. The ladies at the breakfast area do a remarkable job (when nobody is fainting) and are always friendly, keep the food well stocked and are always cleaning and asking if they can clear anyone`s plates. Before we checked out the lady at the front desk asked if we were going skiing,i said we may stop by king pine on the way home. she gave us all one coupon for king pine. I forget her name.If you are on business in the North Conway area and are staying for a long time stay here. But i feel like if you are traveling with more than one kid, save money and stay at the Hampton inn across the street.

Room Tip: one of the top floors in the east hallway are quieter
