We usually travel with our two dogs- both labs- and have to spend a lot of time researching places to stay. A lot of properties say they are "pet-friendly" or "pets welcome", but that means different things to different innkeepers. At the Spruce Moose, your pets are as welcome as you are! We were greeted by the resident pooches Whitman and Lilly when we arrived, and Nellie and Leon were equally as welcoming.
We stayed in the Smith Cottage, which has a beautiful gas fireplace. It was very quaint and cozy, and roomy enough for us all to feel comfortable in. The inn is located on a quiet street, but still very close to downtown North Conway and the shops and restaurants (it rained on and off the entire weekend so we drove everywhere, but if the weather was nicer, we'd have left our vehicle and walked downtown for dinner).
The Spruce Moose is also located close to ski areas and a half hour from the White Mountain National Forest, so outdoor activities are within a short drive. We look forward to coming back in the fall to enjoy the foliage, and to saying hi to Whitman and Lilly again!
