My husband and I stayed at the Spruce Moose in October this year. It was our second trip there having stayed previously in 2006. We loved it so much on our first visit that we designed our holiday itinery around staying there on this holiday. We were not disapointed and the Spruce Moose more than lived up to our happy memories from our 2006 trip.
Nellie and Leon are wonderful hosts, the welcome is always warm, the food is excellent and the Lodge itself is a lovely, cosy and very comfortable place to unwind. The two dogs Whitman and Lilly are wonderful little characters and really add to the atmosphere of the place.
Having stayed at many great B&B's on our two touring trips of New England, the Spruce Moose nevertheless remains our favourite by a mile, and needless to stay we will be going back next year, and hopefully for many more years after that.

We happened upon The Spruce Moose 3 years ago, and since then have made several trips back. It gets better with each visit! The innkeepers, Nellie & Leon, and the inn dogs are committed to providing their guests with a warm, friendly place to stay; a base lodge for the myriad activities available in the White Mountains.

Comfortable rooms, great breakfasts, and wonderful hospitality. You'll be doing yourself a diservice if you don't book a room, or a cottage, here.

Does the Moose need another First Rate review? It seems to me that they have enough already! So I'll be short and to the point. All you've read is true, it's a terrific place.
Accomodation great, breakfasts great and hosts great.
Location is away from the noise of main street, but walkable to the restaurants. Listen to Leon & Nellie for restaurant recommendations by the way (and anything else for that matter), they were spot on.
Going to North Conway? Don't even think of anywhere else!

This year was our third stay at the Spruce Moose. All three of our visits were in the Pierce cottage with our dogs. The Inn is located a few minutes walk from town with great shopping and dining, yet is also only minutes from great hiking and canoeing spots making this a perfect place for the shopper and the naturalist alike. Leon and Nellie the innkeepers Make it all happen, and they do an exceptional job. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else, and will be back in 2008!
