Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites at North Conway and felt compelled to share my thoughts. This was our 2nd time in the area but our first time at this hotel. We were traveling with three small kids so we stayed in a double-queen, full size pull out bed room. Definitely plenty of space for all five of us. I slept one night in the pull out and one night in the queen size - the pull out is pretty much what you'd expect; a little lumpy and creaky but serviceable nonetheless - the beds were nice and comfy.
The in-room mini fridge and microwave are essential for families traveling with kids! Not all hotels in North Conway offer these amenities (which is odd since there are so many kid-themed attractions here). We were very glad to find rooms with these appliances. The small coffemaker was convenient as well.
The room was certainly clean, even to my rather strict standards, but we did notice a faint smell of stale cigarettes (this was in a non-smoking room). Not sure if there is anything the hotel can do about this; maybe an unscrupulous guest decided to sneak a smoke? This didn't detract much from the experience but each time we left and came back, it was noticeable for the first few minutes. I'm sure if we had brought it to the attention of the staff they would have helped make other arrangements for us. Again, not a major problem for us but thought I'd mention it for the sake of being complete. We didn't have any trouble with noise from any other room or from the hallway. In fact, we met the gentleman who was staying next door to us and he was stunned that he had slept so well with 3 small kids next door to him!
The staff that we encountered were all consistently kind, friendly, and helpful (Josh and Helen were awesome!). Even the cleaning staff we passed by in the hall mustered a smile and a "good morning." We visited towards the end of the busy summer season and I'm sure everyone was worn out but they were still patient and friendly with us. The kitchen crew were also pleasant and kept up with the breakfast rush very well.
The complimentary breakfast was nice and convenient. We never had to wait long for a table but it looked like some folks may have had to. Maybe they could open up more seating outside during the summer? The food is pretty standard breakfast fare - eggs (hardboiled and scrambled), fruit, bagels, english muffins, cereal, a waffle station, yogurt, etc. We all had plenty of the things we liked. The food was fresh and enjoyable and it was nice to feel like we were "eating out" without having to get in the car.
We did not use the pool but it looked very nice if small-ish. From what I saw it seemed to be in regular use and the people in there seemed happy. We also did not use the mini-golf course but it looked great. The grounds are very well kept and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Our kids are still on the young side so we didn't want to worry about them hitting balls into the parking lot or water traps.
One other thing to mention is this property's excellent location. Centrally located and on the "main drag," it's easy to get to every attraction from this hotel. There are SO many lodging options in this area but we really needed something consistent and dependable with the conveniences we needed. Overall we were very pleased with the Comfort Inn & Suites and would definitely consider them for future trips to the area. I think this is an ideal hotel for families with kids due to the convenience and room configurations.

Thank you for your comments about your visit. You've got to come back and enjoy a round of golf at Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf and walk through the gardens. We are planning a complete renovation of the hotel and we will be posting updates on facebook when we begin this project. Stay in touch and we hope to see you next summer.
