“Great Inn- Saved Our Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2011

The 1806 Inn was clean and comfortable. We had difficulty getting there due to car problems during an ice storm and arrived very late but were welcomed with smiles and kindness as well as recommendations for dinner and cake as a bed time snack! The room was very spacious, the bathroom was clean, the bed was comfy, the fireplace was cozy and despite a full-house, we barely heard a sound! Breakfast was fresh and delicious! We had an outdoor photo shoot scheduled for engagement pictures but asked the inn Keepers, Bill and Karen, if we could use their Inn, too. They were more than accommodating and we ended up with our complete engagement shoot at their Inn! Which was a gift since our car continued to have trouble and we ended up at a garage! We now will have a beautiful set of photos thanks to Karen and Bill!
We love to travel around NH and were truly amazed at how wonderful this little B&B was... we will return often!

Bill and Karen are great hosts and the 1806 Inn is very convenient for skiers and hikers visiting Mt. Sunapee. They put out a large array of foods for breakfast and then they offer a hot meal of eggs and bacon or french toast and sausage. The Inn has many used books. You can read them in your room and return them to the shelves or you can buy one and take it home. The midweek ski and stay package is a great deal. The wireless is free and offers reasonable speed,

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast located at the bottom of Mt. Sunapee. It was built in 1806 and there are still original artifacts throughout the place. Bill and Sharon are the live-in attendants and they are just wonderful! We stayed 1 weekday night and happened to be the only guests in the Inn. They treated us like we were family! Guided us to local restaurants, had deals on lift tickets and upgraded our room to a wonderful room with a jet tub. It was so relaxing. (They do offer wireless internet as well - but we chose not to bring electronics on our trip - that was a great decision too!)

They have a nice common area and there are books a plenty to read and purchase (they used to own a bookstore so they are very knowledgeable and have rare books throughout the Inn. They have an area for families to play games and a reading room.

We told them the time that we had to be at the mountain and they were up and had a WONDERFUL breakfast spread (included). They had fresh muffins, bagels, homemade jam, coffee, 3 kinds of juices, hard boiled eggs, other fresh breads and to top it all off a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon! It was exactly what we needed before a long day on the mountain.

If you are looking for charm, personal service, and a wonderful atmosphere ... please, please contact The 1806 Inn - it was top notch!!!

Highly Recommended!

Very comfortable, charming, clean. We felt so at home, the innkeeper was so welcoming. Wonderful set up with a TV room and a room for reading. We will be back for sure.

Staying at this inn was amazing. We got in very late and we were greeted by one of the inn keepers as if it was 4 in the afternoon. The entire time we stayed there, we were treated like family. There was always a beautiful breakfast spread and the option of a fresh made breakfast entree. the rooms were clean and extremely comfortable. While we were in New Hampshire, we visited three different inns in the area and this was undoubtedly the best.

We were in NH for our nephew's wedding in August, and had the pleasure of staying at the 1806 Inn. It is a lovely, clean, welcoming, well-priced and well-run B&B that I would gladly return to when in NH. We loved the well-rounded library collection, and even bought a couple of books back to NY! We chatted with Bill and Karen about art, literature, and anything that came to mind. Located on a main road, the 1806 was easy to get to.

Our rooms were roomy and very comfortable and clean. The bedroom set with marble accents was beautiful and tasteful without being overly ornate. The beds were very comfortable. The faux fireplace warmed us up quite a bit. Each room had its own full bathroom with shower. Each room focuses on a particular author, though you can also browse through the other books in the library. For the TV fans, there were TV's in the public area.

From the moment we walked through the door of the 1806, Bill and Karen were genuinely very warm and accomodating ... and they make tasty breakfasts! We all felt as if we were visiting dear friends and family.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The 1806 Inn is beautiful! My wife and I were greeted by the inn keepers upon arrival and immediately felt like we were part of the family...not a guest! The first thing you notice when pulling up to the property are the gardens. They are meticulously maintained and very inviting! My wife and I enjoyed the wireless internet access and flat screen tv in the "great room"...two things rarely found at an inn. The cozy library had an eclectic mix of books and best of all, they were all available for purchase. Breakfast was great! Eggs, sausage, bacon, juices, muffins...perfect!

Our room was stunning! The canopy bed in the first floor bedroom made my wife feel as if she was royalty. The sheets were crisp and white, the comforters were quaint and colorful, the room and common areas were spotless. The inn keepers, Bill and Karen Carruth, obviously take pride in their property, and it shows! We will definately return during ski season because they are right at the entrance to Mt. Sunappee Ski Area. We highly recommend the 1806 Inn because it blends modern convenience and location with the "homie" feel of a great New England inn!
