“Horrible service and mediocre food!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2010

We stopped in at Mame's this past weekend with my parents and in-laws for a late lunch. The place was empty save 1 other couple. The service was horrible and almost non existant despite the fact that there was seemingly nothing else for our server to do. My mother ordered the chicken stir fry and when our meals came she was served the chicken teriyaki. When she questioned this the extremely rude waitress firmly stated that it was the chicken teriyaki not even asking if that was correct. My mother, being soft spoken, didn't question it any further and ended up just eating what she was served. We then were excited about the mud pie on the dessert menu as it is described as being served with "homemade hot fudge" we were all dissapointed when the dessert came out and it was covered in cold Hershey's syrup!!! Note to the owner: don't advertise "homemade hot fudge" when you are serving cold store bought Hershey's syrup. Will absolutely never return to this restaurant.

“Very good restaurant, great service, very good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2010

We stopped at Mame's on a week night. The owner ushered us in to a cozy table. We ordered lobster and also seafood sampler. Both were very good. The wine selection was very good. The desserts were overwhelming in size and deliciousness. The mud pie is to die for.

“Would not recommend or return”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2009

Ate at Mames tonight, we were ready to leave ( would have paid for the soup and drink) prior to our meal that took a very long time ,plus 15 more minutes after the waitress told us "it would be just a few seconds", and brought us more stale rolls....certainly was not worth the wait, very mediocre food ,too pricey for what was served, and the restaurant has no atmosphere and looks quite outdated . I could go on but i will leave it at that, just know that once was enough and never would have been better.

“In a word: mediocre”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2009

I know some locals that seem to like this place, but I've been several times now and I think it's a dated, dirty place with very marginal food offerings. I've mostly been there for lunch and the place has been dead. The daytime waitress looked haggard and worn out and the food just is C-minus quality. It has a good location -- just steps from everything in town -- not sure why the owners don't really spruce the place up and bring in a new chef to give it a lot of new ideas and new energy.

“Nice atmosphere & friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2009

Located just off Main Street, with street parking and a big lot across the street, we were quite pleased with Mame's. Atmosphere is pub/bistro style; upstairs a bar (with TV overhead) and a group meeting/dining room, downstairs various rooms each seating about 20 or so diners. Menu is varied with offerings from basic Angus burgers to sea food and meat dishes. Prices from approximately $8 to $25 per entree. The few daily specials are recited by the waitstaff with price, what a good custom! Wines priced fairly, glass at $5-7 and bottle from $20 and up. Desserts are on the heavy side with chocolate, sauces etc. During our visit, a soft jazz music was piped in through the sound system. Our waiter was efficient, polite and knowledgeable about the way some dishes were prepared.
