“quaint cosy quirky homely warm hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

Stayed here Nov 2011-will add photos and videos later.

Chose Meredith as a place to stay purely because it sounded 'quaint'. Not sure why we ended up at The Inn at Mill Falls, but am so glad we did.The title of this review describes the hotel.
On arrival by car we werent sure where the hotel entrance or main parking area was, but we soon got our bearings.
When we walked into the main reception area it was quite 'olde worlde'...The smell of fresh coffee and yankie candles/potpourri/home cooking ? made the hotel feel very homely. We had a fabulous room near the main reception which had a beautiful view over the lake.It was too cold in November to sit outside, but in the summer it would be lovely to sit on.
There is a fast flowing waterfall immediately out the back of the hotel, which seems to flow under/through the hotel ??
Although the hotel is not huge, there are a few shops, cafes, a bar and restaurant in the hotel. The hotel is built on the side of a hill, so there are quite a few stairs to negotiate to be able to access all the areas. The creaky floorboards add to the 'olde worlde' feel of the hotel.
There were 2 large tables in one of the brightly lit landings, with 1000+ piece jigsaws for guests to attempt. There was also free coffee in the main reception area.
There are a few other hotels within easy walking distance of this hotel if you fancy a change of menu - we ate at the Lake House, Lago and Mames and loved them all.

Room Tip: a room with a view over the lake would be hard to beat.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights late in September. The setting is very pretty and there are several places to eat and shop on the property. It's right on Lake Winnipesaukee which is a real bonus. The room was comfortable, but the carpet desperately needed vacuuming when we arrived. We used the free internet access to find some information about the local attractions. I enjoyed this place and I would stay here again.

I grew up in the Lakes Region and have since left the area. I have always enjoyed the Mills Falls for shopping. This was my first time staying at the Mills Falls. The room was clean and the bedding was nice. Some updating is needed. We were told our bed was queen and it was only a double. If we had planned on staying longer I would have changed the room. The bed & pillows were comfortable. We were in room 306 right off the parking lot. The room was quiet. The bathroom was cozy and had some nice toiletries. I found it odd the flat screen TV was on the dresser. We would stay here again just in a different room. The Waterfall Cafe was excellent!!!

Decided to go away for a couple of days just before Christmas. After seaching around we selected The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls in Meredith, NH. The property consists of several Inns located around town. We choose Church Landing overlooking the Lake. Nice large room with sitting area. Started the evening with a fantastic massage at the Cascade Spa and dinner in town at Lago. Perfect day. Big, comfortable bed...slept like a baby. Day 2 was some shopping in town and a beautiful ride around our end of the lake. Capped the evening off swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool and sitting under the stars in the hot tub. 25 degrees out and it was awesome.
If you want rustic New England relaxing getaway then The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls in Meredith, NH is the place to go.

Room Tip: We enjoued the view overlooking the town and the lake...

This is a lovely full-service resort right on Lake Winnipesaukee with a terrific staff. The Lake Club restaurant is quite good both for breakfast and supper and features a remarkably affordable wine list and superb service.

Room Tip: ask for a lake-view room with a balcony

We stayed at the Inn at Mill Falls for a family wedding last weekend.(November 17). The room, basic but spacious, had a queen sized bed, couch, sitting area and decent bathroom and was what I had expected for 150.00 a night. We had an across the street view of the lake, but my sister and her husband stayed at the other property, Church Landing, and their room was where we had pre-wedding cocktails since it was about thrice as large as ours, had a great sitting area, balcony with a lake view and a great gas fireplace. (A great splurge if you want to spend app 400.00 plus a night).

The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were a bit too puffy for both our preferences. Because our room was quite warm, (without any heat on), we were grateful that we could open the windows and breathe in some cold lake/mountain air. I forgot my mandatory hotel flip flops, and reluctantly had to trod on the carpet-not too bad.

Meredith is an interesting NH town, a small lakeside village that is actually quite charming in a NH type of way. The Inn at Mill Falls is a bit older than Church Landing, but the common areas were clean, pool was small, but tidy, However, I'm sure that during peak months or ski vacations, the pool would be very crowded with little kiddies. Complimentary coffee, tea, etc were available in the lobby and there are a few shops in the marketplace to browse.
There are plenty of neighboring restaurants and shops, though most were closed when we walked around early Sunday morning. We opted to eat at George's diner, just round the corner, and had a great hangover curing breakfast of corned beef hash, eggs, toast, ham, home fries, beans and coffee for $20.00-They do have a spot to eat at the Inn, but we prefer to check out local spots. With several breakfast and lunch restaurants all around the area, there's plenty of dining options.

We stopped on our way home at a consignment shop, Etc., a few yards down from Hannafords, and they had some great glassware, antiques, etc. The Whining Butcher is a great place for wine, cheese, etc, right behind Irving's gas station.

Room Tip: I'd go for a lakeview, even though it's from a distance. Upper floors.

Assuming you can find the parking…. Which isn’t easy - get their googlemap link or put Dover Street in your Sat Nav.

This is a is very pleasant place to stay in the Meredith with every thing in waking distance. The room are pleasant but unless you go for a lake view (which I recommend) not that special. However the warmth of the service and the pleasant public spaces make up for that.

All in all a good choice if you visiting the arena and like to stroll around and take in the atmosphere.
