“Friendly & accommodating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for a week while visiting family. The room was big enough for the two of us, although it did not have a fridge. The front desk told us we could rent one but we didn't feel the need to. Still would have been nice for water & drinks. They do give you complimentary bottled water but it is VERY warm. All the front desk people were very friendly and greeted us by name! Any time we needed anything they were right on top of it for us!

After long days it was nice to grab a few drinks and snacks from the on site restaurant. Our friends came there to meet us many of the nights. The bartender Ally was great. We had the bar to ourselves most nights and she stayed open late for us. The food was good and drinks were excellent!

There was a large soccer team staying at the hotel for a couple nights. A lot of teenagers running around and being loud but we didn't have any problems during the night. The only issue we had was there was no ice in the ice machines but we were able to get some from the bar.

We stay here every year when we come to visit family and will be back next summer!

Big thank you to Liz (front desk) Ally (bar) and Shane (Manager) for making us feel at home during our stay!

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor towards the back. Not a great view but it was very quiet.

The 4 points was not bad. Room was large, clean, and had good fixtures. Front desk staff took 5 minutes to log into a computer to check us in. The Nutfield restaurant was dissapointing. Food was just OK, service was slow, food was un-inspired. Good news is there are lots of good choices near-by. Check the British Beer Company next door.

Me and my three kids were sent to this hotel after our flight was cancelled due to a mechanical issue. I cannot comment on the rate or value, as the airline paid for our room.
The hotel is not that close to the airport, but there is a complimentary shuttle van to get you there. We need to rely on this service because we were dropped off at the airport. We did wait for the van to pick us up for over an hour.
The hotel is rather basic, but it was clean, and all the staff that we had encounters with were friendly and polite. We checked in, had dinner at the on site restaurant, and were in the hotel room only for a few hours.
I was not expecting to sleep well, as I often have difficulty sleeping when I need to catch a flight early in the morning. I can honestly say that I had much better sleep than I expected I would. So I would say that it was a comfortable bed.
We asked for a roll away, and the front desk said they did not think there were any left. When we came back from dinner, it was in our room. That made a huge difference in our comfort, and it was super nice that the staff accommodated this request for us.
We were able to schedule our van ride back to the airport in the morning when we checked in the night before, so that detail went very smoothly.
It was a decent hotel overall.

Dear Jenlevity63,
We're sorry about your flight cancellation, we know that can be frustrating, but happy to hear Four Points was able to accommodate you. It's great to know that you had a comfortable stay and enjoyed your time with us. We hope you visit us again in the future on better terms and not due to a cancelled flight! Safe travels.

We loved each and every staff person we met and felt that we made friends. Couldn't have asked for better people. However:) we had problems because we stayed 2 weeks. There is no drawer space for clothing. One armoir for 2 people is unreal. We lived out of our suitcases...If you are on a stopover for a couple of days this is great..Hopefully changes will be made to at least have a few rooms for long term stays. I say stay here..Even with our clothes problems we would stay again..

Dear Moomaggie,
Thank you for choosing Four Points for your recent stay in Manchester. We're sorry you felt that you didn't have enough space to organize your personal belongings. We do have an armoire with several drawers, closet with hangers, and a luggage rack for your convenience. Should you need more hangers in the future, please give us a ring at the front desk and we will do our best to accommodate you so that you can organize and unpack your items as much as you would like. Thank you for your feedback and we hope to host you again in the future.

Not a bad place to stay for the price and it has a convenient location, but has anybody else had an issue with the pillows? We just stayed here for 2 nights. The bed was comfortable enough but the pillows had no firmness to them at all. We requested extra pillows after the first night and got them but even that didn't help. You can actually fold the pillows completely in half and stack them on top of each other and it still feels like you have no support. If it wasn't for that issue I would have rated the place a little higher.

Dear Bill B,
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We're sorry your stay was not as comfortable as you would have liked it. Our pillows are on the softer side and we apologize for not having firmer pillows available for you. We have forwarded your comments to upper managment and hope to have a better solution for you in the future.

The first thing that impressed me when I walked into the lobby of this hotel was the smell- a delightful air freshener that smelled liked fresh cut grass. The front desk folks were very friendly and helpful. I got to spin a game wheel because I am a club member- I got a gift! Very nice way to begin a stay. The room was very clean, nice softgoods. Bed was very comfortable- pillows were just right. I slept better here than I have in a hotel in a long time. Towels are good quality.
Yes, it's a little bit worn in spots- but overall, the room was very nice and clean- and the staff was above average.

I am always a fan of staying at Starwood hotels to get and use points. I wouldn't stay at this one again. It's an old, tired building that needs an upgrade and is crying for central air. Our room was stuffy and there was very poor ventilation in the bathroom. On the plus side, the room was quiet and clean. But the main reason why I didn't like this hotel was the restaurant. There are not a lot of food options in the area, so we hit the hotel for breakfast. The service was so bad it was laughable. There was only one other table of people in the restaurant and it took forever to get served and the food was terrible. spg, I expect better from you...

We actually have many restaurants in the area and can be reachable via a short car ride or by our complimentary shuttle.
