“Zimmerman house is an absolute MUST SEE.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

If you enjoy Frank Lloyd Wright homes, then Zimmerman house, via the Currier Museum, Manchester, NH. is a must see. 100 feet long, with his Prairie Style fully intact, it is furnished almost entirely with FLW designed furniture. The landscape is beautiful.

The house is sited close to the street with small above eye-level windows for privacy. This way the "back yard" contains almost the entire lot, and gives a very roomy, open feeling to the house. On this side the windows and doors fill almost the entire wall, giving a marvelous garden view from sitting inside. Almost like you are sitting outside, but are not.

The wrap around wide, shelf goes from the living room fireplace, around to the dining room, and then into the kitchen. A real dishwasher exists, too! Compact spaces are very orderly, and functional. ie the Bedrooms and dining room. The tables in the living room can stay small, or reconfigured, become larger.

Adding to the wonder of this house is the incredible collection of 70 pieces of pottery by UNH's Ed and Mary Scheier. It is my kind of house. Great spaces to hold music concerts for many guests, and then compact bedrooms.

“It's FLW, so it's fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Found this treasure through its ranking on TripAdvisor, and are so grateful. Your admission to the house is also good at the Currier Museum of Art, which is a definite must-see as well. We made reservations online which was really easy and the ticketing/check-in process is very simple. This is not a tour for little children or older kids who bore easily. There's a lot of standing in rooms, noticing architectural details, and learning about Frank Lloyd Wright and the Zimmermans, so for certain families, kids would enjoy it. Lovely grounds, enthusiastic docents. Don't miss it!

“Frank Lloyd Wright in Manchester”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

In order to see the home, you register at the Currier and a docent takes you on a tour of the house and grounds. Docents are very knowledgeable and give lots of information on the architect as well as the owners who commissioned the house. Well worth the visit.

“Best thing in Manchester, but book ahead!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

Discovered this by accident and so glad I did! You don't need to be an architecture fan to thoroughly enjoy this house - it is absolutely amazing. I actually got chills walking into it. You must book ahead. We arrived in Manchester on a Thursday afternoon and luckily were able to get tickets for Saturday morning.
