If you enjoy Frank Lloyd Wright homes, then Zimmerman house, via the Currier Museum, Manchester, NH. is a must see. 100 feet long, with his Prairie Style fully intact, it is furnished almost entirely with FLW designed furniture. The landscape is beautiful.
The house is sited close to the street with small above eye-level windows for privacy. This way the "back yard" contains almost the entire lot, and gives a very roomy, open feeling to the house. On this side the windows and doors fill almost the entire wall, giving a marvelous garden view from sitting inside. Almost like you are sitting outside, but are not.
The wrap around wide, shelf goes from the living room fireplace, around to the dining room, and then into the kitchen. A real dishwasher exists, too! Compact spaces are very orderly, and functional. ie the Bedrooms and dining room. The tables in the living room can stay small, or reconfigured, become larger.
Adding to the wonder of this house is the incredible collection of 70 pieces of pottery by UNH's Ed and Mary Scheier. It is my kind of house. Great spaces to hold music concerts for many guests, and then compact bedrooms.
