“This is a gem in the city of Manchester”

Love this museum. Has a great café and gift shop. But it's the exhibits that are the draw - has something for everyone. And if you go Saturday mornings, it's free!

“A gem of a museum without the lines, crowds and cost!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

The Currier Museum of Art in Manchester NH was a great afternoon for us. It's close, easy to get to, reaomable in price and even offered great masterpieces by by Picasso, Matisse, Monet, O'Keeffe, Calder, Scheier and Goldsmith, John Singer Sargent, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Andrew Wyeth.

We visited while the "Lethal Beauty" Samurai armor and weapons collection was exhbited also and found this as well as the museum a super afternoon! They also have public programs that include tours, live classical music and "Family Days" which include activities for all ages.

There is also a wonderful cafe and a terrific gift shop that while some would feel is overpriced, I think it is line line with keeping the rest of the museum up to it's terrfic atmosphere and exhibits. Parking is free, the cost is cheap to get in, they need to make up for it somewhere! Give it a shot, you'll be glad you took the time, and to enjoy it, take your time!

“Excellent provincial art gallery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

The Currier is a little gem with a very good collection of art. I particularly like the calendar of traveling exhibitions and specials that are provided throughout the year. A good shop and cafe make this a great place to add to your itinerary.

“pleasant winter diversion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

This is a great place to while away a cold, dark, New England afternoon. There are more than enough exhibits to keep your interest, even with multiple visits. The gift shop has some nice finds for unusual little gifts. My only complaint might be with the cafe, which is pleasant enough, but a bit overpriced with limited selection.
