“An accessible room that really was accessible!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2011

This is a very nice hotel at a budget friendly price. It's not luxurious by any means but it was very clean, comfortable, and had all the necessities (TV, phone, internet, etc.) Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
We were pleased to see that the accessible room we had reserved was actually set up in such a way that it could really be used by someone with reduced mobility. For example, there were plenty of sturdy grab rails both in the tub and surrounding the toilet. And, most importantly, they were arranged in an appropriate manner. This has not always been the case in some hotels where the "grab bars" were obviously for appearance's sake only and pretty much useless. The toilet was one of the "comfort height" models. Very important! The bathroom itself was large and sufficiently roomy to allow someone with a wheel chair to maneuver easily. Although the room was on the second floor, it was not a problem as the elevator was spacious and very near the main entrance to the hotel.
Breakfast was perhaps the only downside of our stay. It was very basic. Not much choice and the toaster took a LONG time to do it's thing! If the management wants suggestions for improvement, they might look into improving the breakfast offerings.

Room Tip: Accessible rooms are near the elevator.

It looks like a new hotel, after the renovation. There was no cigarette smell, and I am very sensitive to that. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is basic but good. I use the Manchester airport regularly, but this was my first try here for a park and fly. I was very pleased with it. The shuttle was on time, the staff member driving it helpful and cheerful. And everyone spoke English! I am not a xenophobe, but when you are in your own country you do like to be able to feel like you are home. Had some less satisfactory experiences in other hotels in the area offering a shuttle service, and this will be my choice from now on.

I stayed there as a rest stop. It's close to Manchester and there were plenty restaurant option. Otherwise there's not much going on around the hotel. The hotel was pretty new. Not the cleanest room but definitely not bad. The staff was nice enough to let me use the pool after hour. The breakfast was alright. The room layout was a bit odd. The bathroom unit was long and narrow. It was not tight but it could definitely be a bit more spacey. Not sure if it would bother anyone, but there's no lock on the bathroom door.

Called today to dispute a charge on my credit card. Was charged three times for my one night stay and when I called to have the issue resolved I found myself being yelled at and spoken down to by Keith. When I asked him to please stop yelling at and talking down to me he got very silent and then more rude. I was then worried that i would not get my issue taken care, so I played along with his rudeness. I finally asked for a manager and go figure ... Mr. Keith was it.

In the end after calling my bank they tell me that the hotel had charged my card for an extra night and then was just in the process of crediting it back. Funny, how Mr Keith couldn't tell me that he or one of his employee's made a mistake.

***I would still recommend this hotel. Remodeled rooms are great and bright green in color. The Shower is also a highlight**

The management staff gets an F, but the hotel (minus the horrible continental breakfast) get a B)

If you stay here DO NOT USE YOUR BANK CARD, USE A CREDIT CARD.
