The front desk help, rude, not helpful AT ALL or apologetic for any inconveniences, obviously JUST a job for them. The current manager on Saturday nights,? YUCK, nothing nice to say about him at all. When making reservations, a friendly hint?, find out about early as possible check-in. When they say check-in is at 5:00, they mean 5:00!!! Even though the mountain closes at 4:00, and check-out is at 11:00, apparently housekeeping thinks they have the entire night to get the rooms ready. For the price they are getting you would think that check in would be a lot earlier, to actually take advantage of the convenience. Not a place to stay for one night!!! On the other hand, if staying for two or more nights,. the location,... A++++, convenient and fun!! The wait staff in the restaurant and the lounge,.. EXTERMELY PLEASANT, they make you feel right at home. The food is great and the lounge very cozy. Would I go back? Yes, definitely not for one night and I am drafting a letter to the Chamber of Commerce and the Hotel "Higher-ups".

Finally a hotel that loves kids. Not only is the hotel on the slopes so our family could ski in and ski out, but the kids ate free both at breakfast and dinner. We also received a $10 credit coupon each day for breakfast and a $20 credit coupon for dinner. The food was the best we tasted in the area. The omelette at breakfast was one of the best I have had. The fitness center was where the kids spent the evenings - plus the 24 hr. game room. We also go to try out their new spa. The massage wasone of the best I have had and my wife loved her facial and pedicure. One of the unique things about the hotel is that they have covered parking - no brushing off the snow and ice.

When we arrived we were asked if we would like a room with a balcony or a jacuzzi. We picked the jacuzzi. The jets in the jacuzzi were crawling with mold. We called housekeeping and asked for Chlorine Bleach and when nothing had been done 2 hours later, my husband called and spoke sternly to them, then they responded. When the lady arrived from housekeeping she thanked us for telling her how to clean a jacuzzi, it seems they weren't really sure how to clean them properly ugh, (make sure you check yours before filling it). The heat was messed up at the hotel and every room was hot as heck we slept with the windows open, no blankets and were still dying. We saw a refernce to an "Omelette Nazi" in another review she was extremely rude (but it was one of the best darn omelette's we've ever had!) it reminded us of the Soup Nazi episode on Seinfeld. The whole thing is set-up to lead you to THEIR restaurants and THEIR gift shop, like lemmings to the slaughter! What a tourist trap! Even with a $20.00 off food coupon the prices were outrageous. We chose instead to go to Gordi's Steak House on 112 in town. It was excellent. One of the best surf and turf we've had!

For those who do not require a pond, lake or ocean nearby, Mountain Club provides a number of outdoor activities including a twelve minute gondola ride up Loon Mountain. No, Dorothy did not slay the wicked witch of the west, she is at the Mountain Club making omelettes as well as unhappy guests with her sharp tongue and abrasive manner. The Club provides inaequate number of daily newspapers as, I am told, they do not want to go to the bother of collecting the money for them Office manager seemed generally indifferent. However, the staff were mostly young and generally most cordial.

We just came back from Mountain Club on Loon, part of our summer trip through New England. The room was nice, but we were not impressed with the hotel's service at all - the people in the restaurants were rude (informing us that in a nasty way that there was a 50 minute wait for dinner, and you'll find it much longer in town...); the washing machine on our floor overflowed, and the flood was not cleaned up after I told the front desk, they just threw towels over it; the elevator in our section of the hotel was out of order for a full day (a Saturday), and no one seemed to care.... The best thing was the free gondola passes up the mountain and the caves at the top of the mountain. The location is great, but look for another hotel in that area. Oh, by the way, the lady who makes the omletes at the breakfast buffet was being called the "omlete Nazi" ordering people around - where to stand to order your omlete and so on - and I heard more than one person call her that.
Also, at the "all you can eat" breakfast buffet, you have to pay extra for another 4 oz. glass of O.J.l
