We stayed at the Profile for two nights. We got tickets to the Polar Express which is about 5 minutes away. It was just fine for what we needed. Very clean, owners were very helpful with directions, places to visit, restaurants etc. Has all the basics...plus HBO! We would stay here again. A basic motel room but comfortable, clean, and plenty of room for my husband and I and our two young boys....and you can't beat the price! Nice quaint towns nearby too! We plan on going back this summer!

We stayed in a motel room for one night in November while in town for a wedding. No complaints. Room was very clean, and it included a microwave and fridge. Convenient location near hiking. Only thing I didn't like was that the shower head was too low. I hit my head twice while washing my hair, and I had to bend down to do so. I'm average height (5' 10"), so tall people be warned! Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

Based on other reviews, my husband and I decided to stay here for two nights in October 2007. We had a room with 2 double beds for $72 plus tax. Firstly, let me say that everything previously said about the hosts is absolutely correct. They are the most friendly and accomodating people you will ever want to meet. The room was large and very clean, plenty of towels, and the facility is completely non smoking. However, I do have three complaints. These things are important to us. If they are not important to you, then this facility will be great. 1. There are no cups or glasses (plastic or otherwise) in the room. I don't know how anyone can take a pill without a glass of some kind. 2. There is no coffee maker in the room. 3. There is no radio in the room. As I said, these three things are important to us. If they don't matter to you, then great. They do, however, have free wireless internet and satellite tv as well as a microwave and small fridge in our room. A nice family owned motel and for what it is, it is a good deal.

No need writing a lengthy review. I booked a fall weekend trip for my girlfriend and I based on what I read here and the Profile Motel met all our expectations. We stayed in a cottage for $65 a night. Simple, clean, great location and the friendliest hosts. I would feel GUILTY staying anywhere else on a return trip! Have dinner at the Common Man in Lincoln. It was an interesting place.

We stayed at the Profile in late August / early September. It was a stopping point between Boston and Montreal. It's not the best time to go and I imagine it would be busier and better in high summer or the skiing season.

It is nothing fancy but for what they offer I doubt you'll see better in New England. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the owners were very attentive and knowledgable about the area.

For breakfast it has to be the Sunny Day Diner in North Woodstock.
