“Another great trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We stayed in Cabin #5 again this past weekend and had another enjoyable stay. We arrived late Thursday night after the office was closed and there was an envelope taped to the door with our names on it with the key and a note enclosed, telling us to enjoy our stay and that they'd check in with us at some point over the course of the weekend. The owners make it feel like home and are always kind and welcoming. We were able to utilize our fireplace this time (which was great!) but unfortunately it was a bit too cold to enjoy the porch. However, the river could still be heard, which makes for very peaceful sleep! Also, being able to bring our dog is a huge bonus, he'd hate if we went hiking without him, so finding a place that's so accommodating in that area is key for us. We'll be back in the future and have and will always recommend Pemi Cabins!

Room Tip: Cabin #5 is great- the only we've stayed in, but perhaps too small if you have a larger dog.

We Stayed for a weekend a fews back .The first night we were in cabin 4 which was a little small for us and our dog. The second night we stayed in cabin 11. I loved it! Apart from someone (hopefully a house-keeper) must of split cleaner all over the bottom of our bed and we didnt notice until we were going to bed. Which made for a very uncomfortable night. Apart from that we loved our stay. The cabin are cute and cozy and listening to the river all night is very relaxing.
We plan to return..possibly in the winter.

My husband and I stayed at the Pemi Cabins in October, 2012, while on our trip exploring New England. We loved the cabin. It was so cozy. The stone fireplace was awesome. We didn't light a fire, it just wasn't that cold, however, they did have firewood at the office. We LOVED the back porch, sitting out there listening to the water flowing was so soothing. It's a small cabin, just perfect for the two of us. There was a desk which gave us ample room lay out our stuff. The office has great coffee in the morning, and a little gift shop. We weren't traveling with our pets, but it's nice to know it does allow them. Great visit and glad we found this place!

The one night stay was OK however the advertised wi-fi in the cabin was a no show. We visited the office on 2 occasions to find out about the problem and got the run around. I asked for some money off of the $118 bill but to no avail and was told their were 7 other wi-fi stations we could hook to besides theirs. None showed up on my iPad. Some would call the cabins rustic but some definitely needed repairs. Next time we will be trying another of the many places available in this region.

Our stay started out as four stars, but then lost its luster on the second night. Our gas fireplace ran out of propane. What we thought would be a night at the fireplace, instead turned into a night in our sweats. The office closes at 8:00 p.m. which is extremely inconvenient. The screened in porch was wonderful, but we couldn't warm up once we got inside, due to no fireplace.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights we had cabin #2 which we did like very much. We also brought our dog which was a nice plus. We loved the screened porch over the river and had coffee there each morning ( we brought our own coffee maker). We had a nice fire the second night we were there which added to the ambiance. We liked everything about the place but there were a couple things I would address. If I had to say anything negative about our experience it was that the bathroom had a not so pleasant smell in it. Maybe someone locked thier dog or whatever in there and it urinated on the floor or something but it did stink in there. I would put an air freshener in there if I owned the place. Also there is no where to plug a blow dryer into in the bathroom and that is where the only mirror in the whole cabin is so I had to do my hair blindly in one of the bedrooms. It would help if they put a mirror in each of the bedrooms or at least one of them. Also it would be nice if they supplied you with a fire starter log or whatever you call them because we had a hard time lighting and keeping our fire going long enough to get hot embers... Another suggestion would be the tv needs to be updated to flat screens...they have the old style tv's and they are high up ...it kinda hurt my neck to look at it and a printed channel line up would be good to as would instructions on how to set the heat....we were a bit chilly and we did put the heat on...we thought it would shut off after it reached the temp we picked put it didn't and we were sweating in the middle of the night. All in all we did enjoy ourselves very much and we will be back. The things I mentioned are minor but would make people's stay that much more enjoyable.

We stayed in cabin #2 for 2 nights, really enjoyed it. The knotty pine interior, the fireplace and the screened porch right on the river made for a wonderful, atmospheric time. Rick, the owner, was amiable and accommodating. We decided to stay a third night, but our cabin had been reserved, Rick moved us to cabin #15, a much larger unit with a separate bedroom and kitchen. Although bigger, this cabin didn't have as much charm as #2, and was not right on the river. If we get to return, we'll be sure to be in one of the other units. Many thanks to Rick and his sister-in-law, Cindy (and their awesome cat, Boo-boo) for a very enjoyable experience!
