I recently stayed at a cottage # 15 that has been managed by the owners of the Lighthouse B&B Pat & Mike. Each year I get together with 2 old college room mates for a few days away from our families. This year we had to change our plans(trip to Montreal) at the last minute because of unforeseen circumstances. We stayed in a two bedroom ( 1 queen and 2 twin beds)cottage in Laconia, NH for two nights. The Inn keepers were very welcoming and helpful. Even though we were not staying at the B & B they gave us a tour before we received the keys and lots of information of things to do in the area. During the tour we found the B & B to be quaint and peaceful. Our cottage which was about 3 miles down the road from the B & B was part of a community of cottages about 9 (?) in all and was within walking distance of the lake(bay) water. It was newly remodeled and clean. The beds were comfortable. The space was perfect for three women. Two of the women are runners and the surrounding area was not conducive to a long runs because of the extremely busy and narrow roads. There were plenty of smaller areas for walking. The only complaint (which really could not be helped) was the periodic smell of a septic system when we were sitting on the small patio area outside the cottage. It seemed worse in the morning and was bearable most of the time. The location of the cottage was perfect. Close to many of the area attraction but secluded and quiet, especially at night. The price was reasonable especially because we were only at the cottage in the early morning and returning in the night. There is so much to do in the NH lake region we were never bored yet peacefully enough to relax. The friendliness of the host was what made this trip special. Thank you Pat and Mike,
