“Good food and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We went as a group of four for dinner on a week night. The wait staff was very friendly and pleasant. Living overseas, I rarely get Guiness on tap, so that was a big treat. They seemed to have an extensive list of beers on tap and by the bottle. It is very much an Irishy sort of bar/restaurant.

The steak, chicken parmigiana and haddock were all very good. OK, bar food good, but good. Service was relaxed and attentive. There is plenty of parking and a new outdoor patio.

The one concern voiced by everybody in the party was the acoustics of the place. There was a pretty good crowd and a local radio station was doing a broadcast from the other end. It made for some difficulty with conversation, even in our alcove seating. Perhaps some acoustic tile would help with this.

“Someone is not paying attention”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

Stayed at the hotel Friday night and looked forward to eating at an Irish Pub. The place is big with a huge square bar. That was the good part. Place was packed and loud, no problem, but someone doesn't know how to adjust the bass in the sound system. Service was ok. I had shepard's pie, good but not outstanding. My wife had the worst corned beef and cabbage in history. How could an Irish pub put out such a dish beats me. Corned beef was as dry as the shavings in a hamster cage. The potatoes and cabbage never saw the same pot as the corned beef, no flavor at all. Overall a failed experiment by us.

“Very Good Pub Food, Almost Excellent, Friendly Service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

We were here at 230 on a Wednesday afternoon and were two of about a dozen customers in the joint. This was recommended to us by a local resident who had attended several business receptions here and said the food was very good. I was prepared for standard bar/pub food but I was pleasantly surprised. I started out with the Caesar salad with shrimp, it was a big portion, fresh lettuce and cheese with four or five nicely grilled fresh shrimp. I then had the "Sausage Po'Boy" which was really great. It isn't a hero (sub, hoagie; a long roll as opposed to a bun) which is what I think of when I think of a "Po'Boy". It was a large, apparently custom-baked very tasty bun with two split "bangers" of Irish sausage with carmelized onions. The "chips" were deep fried, dark, very crisp, very flavorful thick cut potato chips. The other person in my party had the "Waxy Burger" which had BBQ carmelized onions, cheddar, onion, lettuce and tomato and was delicious. The side of French fries was small but very tasty. Other than the French fries, these were not small portions and if you have lunch here you will only be interested in a light supper that evening. We look forward to dining here again. (The tab for two was 36.90 total).

“Good food , good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

This is a hotel restaurant . We were a party of 10, got excellent service, the food was typical bar food but very tasty ,with generous portions . A wonderful beer selection with many craft beers on tap. There is outside seating available in good weather.
