“Winter Wonderland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2010

The best way to start the Christmas holiday with a weekend getaway at Josselyn's Cabins. Annual visit to Santa's Village and sledding during day. Comfy fire pit with smores to end the day. Kids now old enough to walk the grounds alone, no worries. Wonderful time, yearly tradition.

These cabins are great any time of year. We have visited over Christmas and during the summer and always had wonderful time. The cabins are very comfortable, and cozy inside. The location is unbeatable if you are into hiking -- there are hundreds of trailheads in White Mountains within an hour drive from the cabins. There are also some ski resorts close by. Also unlike some of the other cabins in the area, Josselyn's cabins are located far from any major road.

My wife and I stayed up at josselyn's for a few nights.Living in the city and the hustle and bustle of it when we arrived there it was like heaven on earth.Time slowed to a crawl.I was able to spend a lot of time with my wife.I felt closer to her when i was leaving than I have in years. We heard the coyotes in the background and the peacefulness of the the wind blowing and the time crawling along. The remoteness of the white mountains and the absence of a thousand cars going by really gave us a calm and peaceful feeling.Unfortunately we had to go home and now we long to be up there every day of our lives together. We may have a chance to move up there soon and i hope this comes true.Thank you josselyns for a great relaxing trip.I will see you again soon.

I had searched extensively online for a nice winter "get away "place, and Josselyn's Site really caught my eye! The cabins loiked beautiful, as well as the area -and the prices were really fair! So, my husband and I booked a weekend in Janury of 2010, and we had a fabulous time! We hightly recommend Josselylns, for the cabins are even better in person, for we found th pictures don't even show their true beauty, elegnace and size! We stayed in Brookside and the cabin was quite roomy, and is much larger in person! Everything was clean as a whistle and the cabins have everything you would need! We cooked in for the weekend, for the kitchenette was perfect. The owners have thought of everything, for we had Cable TV, free movies, a full set of untensils for cooking, free firewood, and even a flashligt to take evening strolls! My favorite part was the awesome swing on our porch! So fun and romantic! You will love this place! We took a walk on Saturday and peeked our heads in the other unoccupied cabins, all are as nice as the next. Thye Loggers and Cabin in the Woods aer extremely private, and we will check those out on our next visit! But, the owner really did a nice job at planting greenry and making each one somewhat private! Brookside is right near the playground though, so in summer time it may have been a bit loud. The only thing too we didn't love was the mattress, for it was a fom mattress and not real springy or supportive. But, it was okay for a few nights. We had a nice relaxing time and cannot wait to go back!! Thank you Josselyn's for out new found "Get away" place!!

We stayed at Workshop for a week in February and have stayed in Cabin in the Woods and another cabin last year. Terrific!! Extremely clean, roomy and fun. Kitchens are great for cooking with kids vs. eating restaurant junk food while on vacation so keeps the costs down. Grills great even in the winter because they are on porches. Very quiet and private setting for each cabin. Not for people looking for flash and glitz but cozy, fun and private. Very family oriented.

Lancaster is 10 minutes away with food shopping at Shaws, pizza places, McDonalds (for emergencies).

The beautiful cabin could not have been made more welcome to us. Much appreciated are the personal touches of artwork and wood-burnings that decorated the place. All of it combined to make a great first experience for our holiday weekend together.

We shared the Christmas Cabin with another couple. It was easy to find and in a nice location for hiking in Crawford Notch. It certainly was a sparkling beautiful winter weekend and the view from the cabin was lovely. We took a nice walk to see some of the other cabins and also followed the snowmobile trail on the property for a bit...very nice.

The owners obviously tried hard to supply everything you'd need. One thing they forgot was pot holders..so bring your own if you're using the oven (as we did). The cabin has many beds, but I can't imagine spending much time in the winter with so many people in it. It's cozy for sure and great for 4...more than that....well, maybe if you're used to sharing close quarters and a bathroom. Likely we're just spoiled from having grown children and living on our own.

The cabin theme of Christmas was very cute and well done and not over the top. The furniture is lovely .. and the overall ambiance is nice. The monitor heater keeps it warm and the gas fireplace is a nice touch.

A great spot and we'd definitely go again.
