Wow, what a find! My husband and I and our friends were all traveling through New England celebrating our 20th Anniversaries. We came from Bar Harbour ME and took in all the fall colors on our long drive to New Hampshire. We decided to drive as far as Jackson (not knowing how charming the whole town is) we pulled in late so it was dark and after we found a place to stay we decided to have dinner at the Thompson House.
I'm so glad we did. I just read some negative reviews and those people are so wrong. We were seated right away and chose a rather nice bottle of wine and let me tell you.....Barbara (who sat us) was an Angel. We told her we were not from the area and wanted to explore a bit. She came back after we ordered and had a whole list (she made out personally) of sights to see and how to get there (inclucing short cuts) now that's service. She even made my husband the perfect dirty martini. My friend and I ordered the Diver Scallops-yummy. My husband had a great salad with fresh mozzerella and eggplant with chicken and Tom had the meat loaf -so good! The atmosphere and the great food along with the excellent service was perfect! Don't miss it.
