“Amazing staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

We were on our way to Maine and had crossed through Vermont. We needed to bring home syrup for the family. The Morse Farm in Montpelier had 4 grades to choose from. While passing through New Hampshire we decided to stop in Hooksett at the Fairfield. We called to make the reservation and the associate new exactly where we were on the highway and guided us to the hotel. Once we arrived, Amanda gave us awesome advise where to eat. She was the most pleasant young woman, very personable and a real gem. Fairfield is lucky to have this young woman as their representative. My husband and I will certainly use this chain of hotels in the future. Our experience in New Hampshire turned out to be the unexpected highlight of the trip.

Our first impression of this hotel was very good; nice, inviting lobby and internal entrance to rooms. The room itself was incredibly nice for such a low price---we had the 2-queen suite with sofa bed. Very spacious, immaculately clean. We typically check mattresses for bed bug signs, and even the mattresses were immaculately clean. The only thing we would have liked is a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, something that we have had in other hotels of this price. The continental breakfast is typical fare--with made to order waffles and boiled eggs as an extra nicety. And they had yogurts as well. The lady who helped out was very pleasant and helpful--not overbearing, just friendly enough. The staff is very good here.

Okay, sounds great, but a big rub!!! We were at the very small pool and my daughter decided to go outside the pool area onto the patio. Then she noticed the door to that area does not lock. We went to the front desk, and the clerk said "We have a new lock for that door but the maintenance man is off today."!!!!!!!!!! That means that door, which is away from the front door, had been unlocked all weekend and would be unlocked for another day!!!!! The clerk assured us of security cameras, which must be in the back area behind the check's desk, but that still felt awfully unsafe!!! I strongly urge the management to not have any unlocked door away from the front entrance!!!!!!!
I would have given this hotel an excellent rating if not for this serious problem. I hope management reads this and does not continue such a practice.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor, away from unlocked entry doors!!

The room was clean, and the public areas were also very clean and pleasant. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Check out was easy. The thing I did not like was this: When you check in, they take your credit or debit card in case of incidentals, and I was told that if it was not used, the funds would be put right back. It is now three weeks after my stay, and they have not returned the $40 to my account. I have called them, but to no avail. I urge any visitor to be very careful of this practice, as it can leave you with a very bad memory of an otherwise nice place.

We stayed here in August. We stayed in the one bedroom with living area and were very pleased. It had a refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. Our room was on the first floor facing the parking lot but did not hear noise. The room was clean and comfy. The hotel is only 2-3 years old and all the carpet, upholstery and bed linens are clean and fresh. Room service was respectful and did a good job. The front desk was friendly and accommodating and gave us extra blankets and pillows. Only con, the breakfast offering was not very health conscious (cold cereal, hot oatmeal, waffles, yogurt. eggs). There is a mini-mart with a Dunkin' Donuts next door and a Hannaford's market 1/4 mile south which helped meet our traveling needs.

Room Tip: The back side of the building on an upper floor is the quietest option.

The hotel is close to the Interstate north of Manchester and is in an area that seems it has not seen much care recently. However, the hotel itself is in excellent shape as is the surrounding property and very safe. The hotel personnel are extremely friendly and helpful. For example, we used the laundry (also very clean) and accidentally spilled a lot of soapy water on the floor. Immediately, the problem was taken care of! There is a nice carry-out restaurant nearby for those who like to relax and eat in the hotel ("Puritan Backroom"), serving excellent caesar salads. Breakfast was weak, though. There were no eggs of any kind, so we had bagels alone. When I asked about eggs I was told they were "all out." This was at 9 am.

Easy Access off 93N we found this Fairfield, (one of the newer generation of this brand) very bright clean and well-appointed. Suggest requesting rear of building as road side was a bit noisy. Room 103 had no room number sign and Lindsey at desk seemed ambivalent about that but was courteous and matter of fact about confirming which room was ours. Turned out to be a very nice suite. We will be back.

Room Tip: Request rear of building.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2011

We've stayed previously twice in the past and had a wonderful experience which is why we returned.
My two complaints are an excess room charges on my MC that the desk said they cannot remedy for two weeks and housekeeping entering the room at 8:45 unannounced every ten minutes until we felt forced to leave at 10:30. We had been up most of the night with a barking dog scratching at a nearby door and the sleep would have been nice. Front desk was not very helpful.
