This little inn by the side of the road boasts no lake or mountain views, but there is something so inviting about the way the deck is tucked into the side of the old-fashioned building, with umbrella tables and striped cusions and big butterflies browsing the flowers against a sunny wall. It draws you in. The servers are always friendly, the chef will come out and have a chat and discuss recipes, many of the beers are local, the wine list does not disappoint. All in all, we've enjoyed half-a-dozen summer lunches here this season alone, the highlight being the BLTs on homemade bread. A lobster BLT can be had as a treat, but we tend to stick to less radical variations on the classic theme - some want some avacado on their BLT, others a bit of mozzarella - substitutions and whims are never a problem at this whimisical spot. We've had dinner here as well, and it was great - especially the seared scallops - but those BLTs will keep us coming back for lunch! When we have guests in from out-of-town, we tend to end up here for a casual, carefree and memorable meal.
