“Worth more than one visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2011

I dined at Molly's twice during a stay at Hanover. It's a busy, lively place with a good atmosphere. Food is fresh, reliable, not fancy but high quality, with a nice range of drinks and cocktails. The crayons on the table are a cute touch, and our waitress, Stevie, had a cute routine of writing her name upside down on the tablecloth -- her professional but friendly service was a highlight of the meal.

“Good food in busy, cheerful atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2011

Been here a couple of times now, both with family and colleagues. Food is always very good, service is cheerful and pretty prompt, even when crowded. Be ready to wait for a table during tourist seasons and big weekends at Dartmouth. Great Sunday brunch choice!

“Great food and extensive menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

Molly's has long been a favorite in Hanover of students, locals, and visitors alike. It has a fun, cozy atmosphere (complete with lots of Dartmouth memorabilia) with an extensive menu with lots of old comfort food favorites with a small twist. Most recently, we were there for lunch with the kids (2 and 6). The hostess and wait staff were friendly and accommodating - we had to find a place for the stroller, make multiple restroom visits, and endure a partial meltdown from each. And the standard paper on the tables with crayons was helpful. The food was very good. My daughter had the hummus and pita, which were great - although she did not like them because the hummus was lumpy and had scallions.

One thing to remember is that if you do not enjoy the college age crowd, Molly's (and many other establishments in Hanover) may not be for you. We're college professors (not at Dartmouth, so these were not our students) so we enjoy being surrounded by the 18 to 22 crowd, but it is not for everyone.

“modern American, very popular”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

First, it's very popular, so the anticipation builds while you wait. Then there's the (delicious) bread with (also delicious) sweetened butter. Our server was extremely personable, helpful, friendly and accommodating. All the staff was very customer-oriented, polite and friendly. The menu is extensive--choices for everyone no matter what you can or cannot eat. The food was good, not outstanding but pretty darn good, and it's not as though there are 37 other places from which to choose right around the corner. I don't mean this as an insult, but it's a safe, as in predictable, place to go with a group, especially if the group includes older adults who live far away. The food and ambiance will also please the native younger eaters.

“Nice lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2011

We knew this restaurant would be respectable because it was just a little further from the Dartmouth green than the others nearby. And it was. The restaurant is decorated in wood tones with local Ivy League memorabilia. The food was very good and the service was prompt and flexible. Worth a lunch visit or an inexpensive dinner.
