I hadn't eaten here in years so I stopped by for lunch on a Sunday and was immediately seated. The restaurant has a small, comfortable coffee shop with several comfy chairs and a nice selection of yummy things to munch on. I won't forget that detail! Anyway the restaurant is beautiful inside, very well decorated.
The prices reflect the decor - there were a few inexpensive choices but the bulk of the entrees are $20 plus. One pleasant surprise was a moderately priced wine list, running about 2.5X retail for a bottle. Most glasses under $9.
My choice today was broiled haddock, which was served hot out of the oven and clearly and entire filet of a somewhat small fish. It was served with a baked potato and a small serving of butternut squash. Everything tasted great, the fish was cooked perfectly, but the portions were small for $17. Yes, this is a tourist oriented place but this isn't tourist season!
This is indeed a very popular place, particularly during the summer season so expect a wait. I will return again, the waitress said their steaks are great. If you stop by, be prepared to pay a premium but you will get great food in a beautiful setting.
