“Perfect weekend getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

We stayed at the Bernerhof Inn this past weekend-it was amazing! The Bretton woods room was perfect: jacuzzi tub, electronic fireplace, private porch with a Christmas tree, comfortable bed, and the best shower ever. The location is perfect, it's on the main road that goes through North Conway where all the shops/restaurants are, but it's far enough away from all the traffic. We enjoyed doing the nature trail after it snowed all day. Mike and Tina were great hosts and the breakfast was delicious! We can't wait to go back!!

My husband & I stayed in the Bretton Woods room for five nights (1st floor) & then the Fryeburg room for 1 night (1st floor). Both rooms were beautiful, spacious & clean. King beds were very comfortable; Jacuzzi tubs & fireplaces were wonderful after hiking & shopping. The Bretton Woods room had its own private entrance & deck, which was very nice feature.

Breakfasts in the mornings were fantastic! You definitely don’t go away hungry.

Mike was a wonderful host; he made our stay a memorable one. Whether we had a question on what restaurant to eat at, suggestions on hiking trails or must see places, he had the answers.

The Black Bear Pub at the inn was great. We enjoyed a nice glass of wine…or two every night. It was a great way to unwind after a busy day and to get to know Mike and other guests staying at the Bernerhof.

Our couple’s massages we had at the inn were superb. –Thanks ladies!

We will definitely be back! Thanks for everything Mike & Kerry. We hope to meet Tina next time we are down.

The Inn was decorated for Christmas by the time we got there - it was absolutely wonderful!
Mike and Tina, the hosts, were very friendly and attentive.
The couples massage was great! A lovely way to end the day.
We stayed in Intervale, which was very nicely decorated and cosy - with the only wood stove in the Inn. It was *very* effective at heating then room up. Be careful when booking this room though as the bath/shower is quite precarious to get in and out of. I would not recommend this particular room to those less able bodied.
The downstairs bar and lounge were beautiful and a great meeting/hangout out place.
Breakfast was lovely - set us up for the whole day!

I would highly recommend the Inn for a couples/friends retreat. I especially liked that there weren't any young children! I have three of my own and wished to *escape* children for a couple of nights!!!

***Note*** there was just one major problem - and this is NOT the fault of the Innkeepers. On our second night we could hear a TV BLARING in another room - and this was at 2.30am. I had to get up and discover where it was coming from and tell the occupants to turn it down. Was a shame and only low spot of the weekend. Hence the earplugs that are provided - but they weren't any use - the actual visit to the offender was required.

We just returned from spending the weekend in the North Conway area. For over twenty years we go for the Thanksgiving weekend to the area. Each time we try to choose a different place to stay. The Bernerhof Inn is hands down our new favorite.

The inn has so much charm to it, and judging by the other families that we met there they feel the same way. The innkeepers, Mike and Tina are so incredibly welcoming.

My wife said that she has never felt so at home at any of the other places we have stayed.
We were in the Jackson Village room and loved it. The details throughout were impecable. The inn was all decorated for the holidays which added to its already luxurious feel.

Sitting down in the common area and having a glass of wine with Mike and the guests just feel like being in your own home with friends. There is no doubt this is where we will be coming again next year.
Mike, you truly take pride in the inn, and making sure that each guest feels special. It shows throughout. Thanks for an incredible stay!!!!

Thank you Dave, Melanie and Nicole for your wonderful comments about your stay last weekend here at the Bernerhof. I certainly enjoyed your company and getting to know all of you while sharing stories and lots of laughs in the living room and pub area. Nicole, keep giving Dad a hard time, he loves it! I look forward to your next visit soon, Happy Holidays! Mike

My husband and I stayed at the Bernerhof Inn for 4 nights on our honeymoon. The Inn has a magical character about it with luxurious bedrooms, bath and common spaces along with beautiful artwork displayed throughout. There are common use computer stations with printers on each floor, the complimentary use of an iPad in room, a large movie and book selection in the library and attentive housekeeping. Moreover, we were made to feel at home by the Innkeeper Mike who cooked up the most fabulous gourmet breakfasts each morning and made great suggestions for local restaurants to sample. We also took advantage of the on site Wellness spa and had a couples massage, a perfect way to relax on our trip. We can not express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Inn and how accommodating and friendly Mike was to us. We look forward to celebrating future anniversaries at the Bernerhof in years to come.

My husband and I stayed at the Bernerhof Inn for several days in October and enjoyed every minute! The Inn is located far enough from Conway so as to be peaceful and relaxing (and away from the traffic) but still close enough to easily enjoy all the restaurants and shopping the town has to offer.

We stayed in the Fryeburg room which is located on the first floor on the backside of the house facing the hill. The room was excellent. There was a sitting area (with fireplace and hot tub) which was partially sectioned off from the sleeping area. The sleeping area included a king size bed with flat screen TV on opposite wall along with several dressers to comfortably fit our clothing. The room also included a private bathroom with walk-in shower. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable with plush bedding.

Breakfast was delicious and we were able to choose from several hearty selections each morning prepared by Mike. Mike was also very kind in letting me customize the breakfast selection each morning as I am a bit of a picky eater. Coffee/tea/hot cocoa was also available 24/7 and there were small snacks set out each afternoon/evening. The Inn also has a nice bar/sitting area where you can sit and chat with Mike and other guests in the evening if desired while enjoying a wide variety of beverages. Our favorite part of the Inn was the large porch where we could sit, relax and enjoy the quiet/cool evenings. The Inn also has the Serenity Wellness Studio in the basement area. We were able to enjoy a couple's massage while we were there to help us relax.

We highly recommend the Bernerhof Inn and are already planning on a return trip to the Inn and the area - thank you for an excellent experience!

What an amazing place! My parents have been coming here since the 80's and recommended us to stay here. From the moment we walked in we knew it was going to be so different than anywhere else we've stayed. Mike (the innkeeper) was so accommodating, giving us a guided tour and making sure to get to know our names and our reason for our stay. Such great customer service. Not to mention he's the chef too and the food is delicious!

Needless to say, we're already deciding when we're going to book our next stay.!
