In a word, this place was WRETCHED. We should have done more research beforehand. The brochure and website are just plain propaganda. We had planned a romantic getaway in conjunction with a concert at Meadowbrook. When we pulled in , we knew immediately we were in trouble. The grounds were overrun with weeds and overgrowth. The place looked like it had been abandoned. The lobby wasn't much better. We checked in only because we were beyond the cancellation 48-hour time frame. Our room, which we were told was a "very nice room" was, yes, tacky and moldy. One look at the room and we knew we would not sleep there. We will say, our bathroom was probably the best feature of the entire inn. We ended up using our room as an expensive reststop to freshen up to go to the concert. We didn't even bring our suitcases in. While we were there, we walked around the entire place. We couldn't believe ANY ORGANIZATION would want to have a meeting in the conference room. It was a musty, tacky basement room. The windows were covered with a dirty film. The workout room wasn't bad, but we wouldn't have wanted to touch the surfaces of the equipment. There was a family in the pool, and we had been excited about using a "salt water pool" but there was no way we felt like getting in. The "children's play area with relaxing patio for parents" is a brick and concrete slab wtih moss growing between the cracks and toys that look like they've been collected from a recycling center. There was view, but it will soon be blocked by the growing trees. There was trash and discarded items everywhere. It looks like the owner has just given up for some reason. There is NO WAY you would want a wedding here!!!!! After we used the "facilities," we left the keys on the bed and we were out of there! We learned a $114.50 lesson. We called the owner the next morning to officially check out and we very politely expressed our dissapointment. We will give credit to Maureen. She offered to "make it up to us" with another stay but we absolutely declined. We feel bad for Maureen - she seems in complete denial about the state of the inn - but we will never return.
Don't get a room here.
