“Gorge-ous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Really loved this little hike and the prize at the end is the deep narrow gorge with rushing water. Went to "Lost River" many years ago and this seemed similar. Really nicely kept and well-organized, nice visitors' center and gift shop. The hike isn't too hard but not for everyone.

“Go Early”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

We got there shortly after 9:30 and had a very enjoyable walk up. It was a little crowded and hot as we walked back down and were glad to have arrived early.

“Hiking at Flume Gorge”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Beautiful scenery and a good walk. Plenty of great photo ops throughout the adventure. The entire tour does not take a long time so you have time for other activities throughout the day.
I personally thought the $15 per person was too much. There were many people once you get to the 'boardwalk' portion of the trail. There were a number of times I would have liked to be more adventurous, but there are restrictions! Avoid feeling rushed if you want to linger at one spot.
A few places reminded me of the movie Last of the Mohicans. Take time in the building where you buy the tickets, cool historical facts and great pictures. There is a nice little gift shop and a snack shop (did not eat there).

“Another "must do" while in the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Went with two kids ( 5 & 12). No trouble walking 2 miles nature hike. Actually more down then up. Would not recommend going after rain since it could be very muddy. Don't wear flip flops. Walking shoes are must. Lots of beautiful photo opportunities.

“Must see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Breathtakingly beautiful falls and cliffs with huge boulders, prehistoric pool and wolfs den cave. Both kids ,7&10, loved it as did we. Wear sneakers, bring water and snacks. You'll be tired! Allow 2 hours for pictures and full enjoyment without rushing. Nice fluff shop and educational area too.
