Very nice people run this B&B. They go out of their way to accommodate you. The breakfast was great. I would definitely stay there again! The room was cute too. I hope I can find a reason to go back someday.

Fitzwilliam is everything a Midwesterner ever expected of New England, and Ashburn House is the quintessential New England B&B -- a beautiful old home loaded with antiques, but just comfortable enough. It welcomes children, too, and our daughter loves the innkeeper's brownies. But breakfast was the real highlight of our stay. Carol uses ingredients fresh out of her garden, and it shows. She started us with a strawberry-rhubarb compote, followed by a herb quiche with a potato crust that was the best thing we ate in the course of a 10-day trip that included a whole lot of fresh Maine lobster. Yes, that good. The innkeepers are wonderful people, friendly and helpful, and really made us feel at home. We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are lovely; some have fireplaces.

This B&B welcomes children. There are toys to play with and kid friendly things to do nearby. We enjoyed the 3 course breakfasts with fresh fruits and vegetables. Great ice cream shop in walking distance.

Room Tip: There are 3 rooms. We chose the largest room with the extra bed for our family of 4. Carole added a...

If you are in the Keene area stay here you will not be disappointed. The owners Carole and Ken make you very welcome. The breakfasts are very good and the room we stayed in the Blue room was great.

We unfortunately left some of our luggage when we left and Carole went to a lot of trouble to forward it on for which we were very grateful. Do stay here if you get a chance it was delightful.

Room Tip: A great B&B whichever room you choose

I was so impressed with my recent stay at the Ashburn House B&B that I just have to share my experience. Not only was the beautifully appointed house immaculate, I had one of the best sleeps EVER! It was quiet, spacious, and very welcoming. I found deluxe chocolates and fresh bathrobes waiting in my room and tea/coffee/juice/water were available just outside the door. The owner was discreet & friendly and although he called himself the 'sous-chef' he served up a gourmet breakfast that I will long remember. He accomodated my vegetarian and gluten-free diet with ease and every bite of that fresh-squeezed, fresh-baked multi-course meal was delicious. He even sent me off with extra muffins and cherries in a baggie. My only disappointment is that I did not know about this place sooner. Ashburn House is definitely worth stopping for.

This was one of four bed and breakfasts we stayed at during our weeklong trip in New England to see the fall colors. On our arrival, Carol offered us a cup of tea or cider - I took her up on the cider. Ten minutes later she came back with apples, cheese, hot cider and maple sugar for apple dipping! Very nice! Room was great - water pressure could have been better but not sure what you can do in an old house. That is my only complaint. Carol and Ken had an open doorway to their kitchen which I liked. You could stand in the doorway and chat while they cooked. When Carol found out we were hiking Mt. Monadnock she brought us a baggie to take the remaining 4 muffins with us for the hike - boy were they great on what turned out to be a five hour hike (well worth the energy though!). I would definitely stay here again. Thx Carol and Ken for a wonderful stay!

We have stayed at the Ashburn House several times in recent years as our daughter studied at Keene State College. They hosted our family the weekend of her graduation just a week ago and we felt like we were visiting with dear friends. Their breakfasts are always special and delicious. We will definitely visit again with these lovely innkeepers. Thank you Ken & Carol for making our weekend special especially the wonderful breakfast on Mother's day!
