“Yum!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

Anyone who has stayed in Errol knows they roll up the sidewalk early, especially on Sunday. After spending the day exploring the area, we made the mistake of returning late in the evening with no plans for dinner. Honestly, the only reason we ate here was because it was the only thing open! We were greeted by a very friendly staff and group of patrons. The turkey club sandwich and fries I ordered were delicious! My husband had a burger which tasted good, but was a bit dry. Our grandparents were both very pleased with their meals (a burger and liver with onions). Our server was extremely down to earth, friendly, and attentive. After receiving poor service and getting mediocre food at other local restaurants this will be our go to spot for lunch or dinner on future visits to Errol.

“You've Gotta Try This Place!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

We have a summer place in Upton, ME & always wished for a nice restaurant that was local without going all the way to Bethel everytime. We do like Northern Exposure & the food there is good, but we wanted a little more than what they offer. We heard that Hawg Trawf had opened since we had closed camp last fall & we tried it in May, when we came up to open. We have now been there 5 times....the food is absolutely delicious....very fresh....we've tried several different things on the menu & were not dissapointed in any. The pulled pork is wonderful....very good poutine....they make hand-cut fries that are delicious....their mashed potatoe is real & has "lumps" the way we like it. I recently had peas & they were definitely a nice frozen variety that I would buy @ home & not canned peas....the baked haddock is out of this world. It is a very cute little place with a friendly staff & excellent food & decent prices.....you will NOT be dissapointed if you eat here!!

“A Very Pleasant Surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Last time we were in Errol, there was really only one restaurant to choose (Northern Exposure), so when we saw Hawg Trawf on this trip we figured we'd better give it a try. At first, we weren't hopeful. The places looks pretty redneck and a little bit scary. But we went anyway and boy were we surprised! We got food from the walk-up window and took it back to our motel to eat. The pulled pork was flavorful, the beans were delicious, and the coleslaw seemed like it was fresh and homemade. The portions were generous and we were definitely happy with our supper! Don't be fooled by the down-to-earth appearance of the place, because the food is definitely worth a stop.

“Delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

This is a great little restaurant! We were staying at A Peace of Heaven Bed & Breakfast and this restaurant was the suggested place to go for dinner. This was quite a surprise. From the outside it is not much to look at. There is a walk up window outside to order take out. Inside is small with less than a dozen tables. At my table we had the shrimp scampi, hamburger with gravy, the ribs and the BBQ pork sandwich. With a side of the beer battered onion rings. The servings were large and everything was delicious. Definitely will return when we visit this area again.
