We were really looking forward to dining at this new restaurant in Epping and were very disappointed with the whole experience. Upon hearing that the restaurant had opened on on a Wednesday we decided to stop in last Sunday mid afternoon (3:00) for lunch. We knew that only after opening for 5 days we were taking a chance and maybe there would be a few kinks that they had to work out with a new restaurant and we were right. Here are my thoughts on our experience.
Service : We were seated right away as there were three people in the front working at the hostess stand. Our order was taken after a short time and the we brought our drinks and never saw our waitress again for 30 minutes. She then came over and said "the slips are backed up and your order should be over soon". We waited another 13 minutes before we received our pizza. We were never asked if we needed refills on our drinks. The family next to us were never waited on and even after asking for a waitress no one came over to take there order so they left. The restaurant was not busy at all and all the customers you could see were looking around wondering when there food was. One other family was complaining and asking for a manager on there way out. I thought the concept of the restaurant was your pizza is cooked in an oven 900 degrees so it should arrive quicker than the 43 minutes that we waited.
Food: we ordered 2 pizza's one was a margherita and the other was called a Tuscan Sun with artichokes and sundried tomatoes. The pizza's are all one size and they are very small. The margherita pizza is $14.50 and the prices go up from there to about $16.50 . If the pizza had been really good we may have come back to see if the kinks have been worked out with the wait staff but it was only average at best. One of the pizza's were slightly over cooked and the other had so little toppings and the crust is very thin almost like a cracker. We were never asked if we needed our drinks refilled and after finishing our pizza were just handed our check and not asked if we wanted anything else. At this point we were happy to leave.
Ambience : nothing special, a large room with wooden tables and chairs. Our 2 pizza's were placed on our table on metal serving racks and were had to eat on small plates actually under the pizza. The whole experience was poor and we will not returning to this restaurant.
