“Amazing Quality, Great Comfort Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2012

I have been to the Shaker Table many times, and even had the nice surprise of having my bridal shower here as well. The ingredients are always super fresh and seasonal, and the menus have a good variety without being cumbersome. I frequent here for lunch in the summer, when I have time, as it is always delectable. Also it is located right in Canterbury Shaker Village so it is a beautiful location to visit.

“Wonderful food, beautifully presented”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2009

When my husband and I want to go out for a special meal, The Shaker Table is where we go. The price for the two of us usually runs a little over $100...so it's pricey as far as local restaurants go, but for that amount we had salad, rolls, excellent dinner, wine and dessert.

We have had dinner at The Shaker Table numerous times, and the food has never disappointed. The meals are prepared using local, seasonal ingredients. The location (Canterbury's Shaker Village) is lovely. The restaurant itself is -- as per Shaker tradition -- very simply decorated, but there are usually fresh flowers and candlelight. The waitstaff are always courteous and attentive without hovering (a pet peeve of mine).

Perhaps the only downside would be that while the location is lovely, it is also out of the way and not very convenient to go in the evening...especially in the winter when the roads are not always pleasant to drive.

Overall: fanatastic.

As a side note: I personally recommend the baby spinach salad with honey/poppyseed dressing. Amazing.

“Favorite for the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2009

The Shaker Table is a unique restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and the surrounding landscape while dining outside is very enjoyable.

Food at the restaurant is very different and defines the Shaker's philosophy of "plain and simple". It's beautifully presented and no one is rushed to finish and leave. We have entertained many of our
out of state guests here and everyone always wants to return when they come back.

Take a tour of the grounds then enjoy a wonderful meal, whether it be their luncheon fare or a full dinner. Sunday's brunch is highly prized in the area and a large group of us enjoyed their New Year's morning brunch to which we'll definitely return next year.

Highly recommend!!

This should get 4 or 5 stars but service can be patchy at best and let's it down. Nevertheless, local food, beautifully presented, in what can only be described as an idyllic setting
