“We expected better service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

There are so few places to choose from to dine in the Lincoln area. We chose to have dessert and drinks at Sunset Grill and we felt the service was lacking and the food was average at best. The atmosphere was cute, though.

“Loyal customers, for a reason.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2012

Sunset's owner Tim Scanlon was an apprentice chef almost forty years ago under Reinhardt (Ray) Anderson at the Scandinavi Inn in Campton, then the finest restaurant in the region. Tim has been at the Sunset Grill for many years now, and he runs a reliable restaurant known for generous portions, fine food, and a friendly bar. Both seasonal visitors to this recreation area (The White Mountains) and we locals depend on The Sunset Grill when in the mood for a good dinner out, or when entertaining visitors from out-of-town.

“Awful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

I've been living up in the Waterville area for 2 months now from Aug 2011 to Nov 2011. I like to dine out. I've come to realize that you don't come up here for the food. You come up here to hike or ski. I've been to all the restaurants around here. Tried the Sunset Grill tonight after reading a bit about it. Obviously the reviewers who rated it good have no sense for decent good food. The food was awful. I had the fried clams and oysters which were supposed to be one of their specials. The waiter said they always sell out. They were awful. Soggy and tasteless. My girlfriend had the Chicken Marsala and it was equally awful. Tough chicken and dull and no flavor. How can you mess that up. We didn't notice till after we left but the bartender charged us for one extra glass of wine. We bet he did this a lot. Just a feeling. We will never go back. If you have to go out the best place is the Thai food in Plymouth. It's worth the 5 mins down rt 93. It's very good. Otherwise I recommend the Mad River or Coyote Grill. Neither are really great but like I said don't come here for the food. Ski or hike and eat at home. Woodpeckers is awful and Legends is right behind on the Crapola scale.

“Casual, Family, Reasonably Priced Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2010

We were in the Campton area for a wedding on 2 Oct. We had early check-in at our hotel, however, wanted to "grab a bite to eat" prior to the late aftenoon event. The hotel owners recommended the Sunset Grill, which was less than a mile on the same street as the hotel we were staying at. There was five of us and the food was good, served in a timely manner and was very reasonable. The wait staff was very helpful. We arrived around 12:45. Upon leaving, around an hour later, the place was packed! We would definitely recommend this "local" place ... exit 29, take a right, less than a mile down the road on the left.

“Good, hearty and ecletic food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2010

Sunset Grill has good food for the entire family, in a casual and friendly setting. One of my faves is the a la carte nachos, which enable you to create some great combos. Not huge on ambience, but consistently and reliably good, with fairly extensive selections. I've never had a bad meal or selection at Sunset Grill.
