“Great mid-week vacation with Cindy and George”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

For many years the wife has been after me to book a short vacation to see the Castle in the Clouds in nearby Moultonborough NH (this is a great place to see). After much research I decided to go with The Clarke House. I am sure glad I did. This beautiful 1775 home is beautiful, historic, comfortable and very friendly. Cook Cindy and her able assistant, narrator, storyteller etc. George did everything possible to make our stay a memorable one. You can believe all the other glowing reviews, it's all true. We hope to visit the Clarke House again someday.

Room Tip: Most rooms have a fireplace. We had a romantic fire every night.

This was our first visit to New Hampshire and the Clarke House made us realize it won't be our last. This was truly a home away from home while we visited our daughter who was performing at Jean's Playhouse in nearby Lincoln. The location is a convenient distance from the Manchester airport and very easy to find. It is also a very short distance to many of the activities in the area. George and Cindy could not have been more accommodating and if for no other reason, stay here for the breakfasts! Amazing! Whether you are skiing, leaf peeping, shopping, or just relaxing, this is a wonderful place to stay.

You can't beat the hospitality & love this couple (King George & Lady Cindy of Campton) takes the time to share with you, this is a home-sweet-home not a house :-) Very beautiful place & the food was amazing & delicious. My husband & I love the area so much, we usually drive up north during the summer to swim in the Pemigewasset River less than a mile south down the road from the Clarke House B&B. Enjoy! :-)

Room Tip: We stayed in the Birch room

We had such a great time in this b&b. Everything was perfect, from the room to the 5stars breakfast. George and Cindy are awesome hosts who make you feel as a part of their family. We can definitely recommend this Bed and breakfast if you want to spend some time in the white Mountains Region.

We have stayed at many B&B's, and this ranks up in the top. George and Cindy are very nice, the breakfasts were some of the best we've ever had, and the house itself is very cozy. We stayed in the King Suite which was absolutely wonderful (a surprise no charge upgrade due to elderly guests that wanted to stay in the first floor room we had originally booked) - so much room with every imaginable amenity. There is a great built-in pool and jacuzzi which we had to ourselves the first night - indulgent and romantic! The location off Rt 93 is also very convenient - easy on and off, but nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend this B&B - a great getaway.

We stayed at the Clarke House B & B for a few days at the very end of the autumn season so were lucky enough to be the only guests. This made for a very relaxed stay and we really enjoyed the warm welcome, amazing, generous breakfasts (with alternatives prepared for our younger daughter who has several food allergies), comfortable rooms and the company of Cindy and George. We were particularly touched by the delicious 'red velvet' cake Cindy made as a surprise for our older daughter's birthday and by the fantastic photos she took of the family for us to take away (she is a very talented former professional photographer).

The area is beautiful and we felt very fortunate in staying at such a special place. We hope to be back!

We only had the opportunity to stay one night at the Clarke House BnB, but it was like a warm and wonderful visit with family and close friends. There was fresh baked cookies upon our arrival, with a personal tour of the house to help us get settled in. Later, we were entertained with George's stories, the banter back and forth at breakfast, and the amazing and delicious four course breakfast prepared by Cindy (with George's help, of course!!) There was no need for lunch!! Cindy's and George's attention to detail made our Valentine ski weekend very romantic and relaxing. We stayed in the King Suite, which was beautifully well appointed with plush towels, robes and a beautiful wood burning fireplace, which George took the extra step to start and warm before we returned from our dinner out on a very cold February evening. There is something for everyone, reading and relaxing in the living room, music CDs for every taste, videos, even a computer (if you really find the need to work) many board games, and if you are not too tired from skiing or hiking the mountains close by, there is even an ice skating rink in the back yard, personally maintained by George. We did not have a chance to try the ice rink as we had planned because the weather turned on us, but we will definitely be back for another, much longer stay, as we have decided that the ClarkeHouse will be our White Mountains home away. Thank you Cindy and George for a wonderful and memorable weekend!
